A few days later, spring recess had already started, Maddie was sitting on the kitchen counter as she watched the boy she loved cook freeze-dried food pellets.
- "Done." Chase smiled. "Wanna try?" He extended the plate towards her best friend. She took one pellet and ate it. "So?" He raised his eyebrows.
- "It tastes great." The alien girl smiled, softly. "Honestly, when you said freeze-dried food pellets, I was expecting worse."
- "Always taste, before judging." The bionic boy replied.
- "Yeah. Yeah. I know, smart-ass." The Matthews girl snickered.
- "Language." The Davenport boy said.
- "I just said 'ass', Chase. It's not that bad." The blue-eyed girl chuckled.
- "It still a curse word." The green hazel-eyed boy rolled his yes.
- "Fine, then, I'll stop calling you 'smart-ass'." Maddie hopped off the counter, in front of him.
- "No, you won't." Chase looked down at her.
- "No, I won't." The alien girl smirked and walked around the counter.
The bionic boy shook his head, amused.
Adam walked in.
- "Hey, Adam, you're just in time. I'm having a viewing party for tonight's big lunar eclipse!" The genius boy exclaimed as he walked up to his brother.
- "Yep, all dudes, no girls. Definitely a Chase party." The tall guy replied.
- "What am I? A troll?" The Matthews girl frowned.
- "Sometimes, I think so." The eldest sibling smirked.
Maddie gasped.
- "You, jerk." She, gently, smacked his arm.
Adam chuckled.
- "It's gonna be awesome. I even prepared an out-of-this-world feast. These are freeze-dried food pellets, just like the ones astronauts eat." The green hazel-eyed boy explained. "Each cube contains an entire meal. This is turkey, peas, and mashed potatoes."
- "Wow, congrats, Chase. You actually found a way to ruin food." The tall guy said as he took a pellet.
- "No, I made it better." Chase smiled.
- "Oh really? Food fight!" The eldest yelled and threw the pellet at his brother. "See, that's just lame."
- "Well, at least, he can't waste food by doing a food fight." The alien girl replied.
- "Come on, guys, you're gonna miss the lunar eclipse. I haven't been this excited since the meteor shower of '98!" Donald yelled.
The three walked out.
- "I think 98's the last time I actually took a shower." Adam said.
- "No, last time you took a shower was in December when I died your hair." The Matthews girl grinned.
- "That was a good prank." The tall guy chuckled.
- "Thank you." Maddie snickered.
- "I cannot wait to see this!" The genius boy exclaimed in front of the telescope.
- "You're gonna have to." The father shoved his youngest out of the way.
The green hazel-eyed boy frowned. Seriously?
The alien girl frowned, angrily.
- "It's beautiful." The scientist said.
- "Let me see, let me see." Chase replied and tried to look at the telescope.
