I wasn't sitting long with the kids before I could smell him. Even with everything going on in here I knew Gabriel was close, my wolf came forward and scanned the room. My eyes locked onto his from across the room, he had just walked in. His smile made my heart skip a beat, he weaved in-between beds to come over. He stood in front of me and I kept rocking looking up at him.

"I feel like a bad mate." I said frowning. "You sat at my bedside for weeks and now I've hardly come to see you and make sure you're alright." He laughed at me. "I'm being serious Gabriel..."

"My silly little Luna." He laughed again, he crouched down carefully so he was almost eye level with me. "Where you are now is where you need to be, these girls need your help a hell of a lot more than I do. Although I wouldn't mind some kisses to make me feel better." He said grinning. "You have a way with people, kids especially, you are the perfect girl for this job." He smiled again, then a young toddler woke up crying on a bed near us, there wasn't much help around.

"Gabriel go pick her up please." I said looking at her then back to him, he had an odd look on his face. "Please?"

He stood and walked over to her, he tried soothing her before picking her up. He awkwardly carried her over under the armpits holding her out and I laughed. I told him to sit and offer her a hug so he listened and gave her back a little pat. She stopped crying and held on to his shirt rubbing her face on him, she soothed herself back to sleep in minutes. Gabriel adjusted her slightly so she was laying down and she curled into him, my heart was melting like before only now it wasn't in my imagination.

After awhile a few she-wolves from Sunrise Pack came and took over watching over the babies and helped put some young ones down for naps. Everyone had eaten and fruit had been placed on the tables for snack when they got hungry. I had made my rounds and gave out hugs to anyone who wanted one, I could feel the long night and no sleep catching up on me. I was emotionally, mentally and physically just exhausted, I leaned heavily into Gabriel's side as we walked in the direction of the door.

"You need to get some sleep." Gabriel said kissing the top of my head, I just nodded and kept walking.

"Where am I going to sleep?" I asked pausing, a hospital bed did not sound pleasant.

I pouted feeling a little cranky and over emotional. Gabriel chuckled and turned holding my face in his hands, he kissed my mouth and nibbled on my bottom lip. I blushed a little when I saw a bunch of the young girls were watching and giggling.

"You're going to sleep with me." He kissed me. "In a bed." He kissed again, I was too tired to even care where the bed was.

"Lead the way." I said grabbing his hand, he gave it a little squeeze and led me down the hall.

We walked across the yard to the packhouse and he helped me up two flights of stairs. He opened a door with a seven on it to show me a medium sized room with a large bed, it looked comfortable. He walked in pulling me with him closing the door with his foot.

"This packs Luna said you would need some rest and told me to bring you up here." He said with smile so I nodded.

I kicked my shoes off and I quickly pulled my sweatpants off and slipped my sweater over my head. I pulled the blankets back and felt hands on my skin relieving the ache of all the bruising.

"Look at your skin." He whispered upset, I looked down to see ninety percent of my left side was black and blue with some stitches here and there from the deep wounds.

"It's okay, I'm fine, just sore." I said trying to shrug it off, he didn't look convinced. "Just come lay with me." I grabbed his hand yawning. "You're supposed to be resting too."
