"A body has been discovered! After a certain amount of time, which you may use however you like, the class trial will begin!" With those words, all of the lights turned on.
The moment Chihiro heard these words, he wanted to let his tears lose. He wanted all of this to be a dream, but he knew that this was all too real.
He was pulled from his thoughts when he saw Kyoko and Byakuya stare at him. Kyoko looked a little bit concerned and Byakuya, well, he couldn't really say how the heir was looking at him. He could tell that it wasn't annoyance but also not something like sympathy.
Seeing this, he quickly wiped the tears from his eyes. Kyoko took this as a sign to start talking.
"I have no doubt that the others have been woken up by the announcement. I think that it's the best if one of us leads them to here, otherwise it can take a lot of time. Time that we don't have."
"I suppose I can get the others, if the two of you wait with investigating, of course, it wouldn't be fair if you could get a head start. And keep them out if possible, we don't need them to start panicking before everybody is there." Byakuya had a smirk on his face as he said that. With that the taller boy left without waiting for an answer.
Chihiro supposed he was used to Byakuya thinking of this as a game, he has said so for the entire time they were trapped and knew that almost nothing was going to change his mind. A big part of Chihiro hoped the would change his mind and maybe even help with defeating the mastermind, but the other part of Chihiro knew that there was a very low chance of that happening.
Now that he was alone with Kyoko, he didn't know what to say. While he had a feeling that she wants to talk to him, she hasn't tried to. Even now, when it's just the two of them.
The entire time that it was just the two of them, waiting for the others, she just stood there, eyes darting around the room, probably looking for any valuable information without actually touching anything.
It only took a few minutes for the first few people to come to them, but Kyoko made sure that none of them could enter the room or even see the body. She also refused to answer any questions the others had. Instead, she just waited until Byakuya was back.
After waiting for a few minutes, it looked like everybody was there. That was confirmed when Chihiro saw Byakuya walk towards the locker room.
Just as the heir cleared his throat to say something, Monokuma appeared.
"What a surprise! All my students are already here!"
"What are you doing here, Monokuma?" Byakuya asked, glaring at the bear.
"To give you the Monokuma file of course! But, if you don't want it..."
"Well, then give it. In case you have forgotten, we have to investigate and we don't need you wasting our time here."
"Fine. Fine. Just check your E-handbooks, it should be on there right...now."
After that, Monokuma just left, leaving the students alone.
"Before anybody goes to check the Monokuma file, it would be best if I explained a few things first."
Byakuya explained almost everything from that night. He told the others about his meeting with Chihiro, though he refused to say what they were doing in there. He also told them about the blood near his door and getting Kyoko and later the others.
After everything Byakuya said, everybody was quick to grab the Monokuma file, Chihiro included.
Victim: Celestia Ludenburg
"The time of death was around 2 40am."
"The body was found in the second-floor school area, in the girls' changing room."
"Cause of death are multiple wounds made with something sharp. The wounds vary in size and deepness."
When Chihiro looked up again, after reading the Monokuma file, and saw that most of his classmates were already in the locker room. Surprisingly, Byakuya was not. Instead, he was near the door, still looking at the Monokuma file. Then, his head shot up.
"Ah, it looks like you're done. Well, let's go then."
"Go?" Chihiro asked, confused.
"Yes, go. I'm letting you help my investigation, is that hard to understand?" Byakuya asked, his voice a mixture of being condescending and being annoyed.
Before Chihiro could ask anymore question, Byakuya was already in the locker room.
Deciding that he had nothing better to do, he went to follow the taller boy.
Just as he entered the locker room, Chihiro saw Hina lead Toko out of the locker room. In the locker room itself were Kyoko and Makoto examining the corpse. Sakura and Mondo were also there, guarding the body. Byakuya was talking to Mondo and Chihiro quickly walked to the two of them.
"So, it was like 2:45am, maybe a few minutes before that, I dunno. And I was walkin' back to my dorm, cuz Chihiro wasn't there and it was kinda getting late. Then, I met Toko near my dorm. She was actin' all weird, pretty sure she was droolin', cuz her tongue was out and all. Said she was looking for you. I just went in my dorm after that to sleep, until I heard the announcement."
"Hmm, and Toko was the only person you saw, right?"
"You're not suspecting me, are you?"
"I'm gathering evidence. So, did you see anybody other than Toko?"
"No, otherwise I would have told ya."
"I hope so." Byakuya suddenly turned to look at the silent Chihiro.
"Did you hear everything?"
"Y-yeah..."
"Good. It's best if we take a look at the body next."
