"So, are you going to tell me why you wanted to investigate with me?" Byakuya asked, following Kyoko as they walked through the halls.
She had been quiet ever since they left the dining hall, merely leading the way to wherever they were going.
It was quite annoying, but Byakuya decided not to bring that up yet.
Kyoko didn't answer, instead she just kept walking until they reached an unfamiliar staircase.
Where were they going?
"I should warn you that there will be some obstacles where we're going. Try to avoid them," She said, turning her cold gaze to Byakuya for a moment before walking up the staircase.
The heir scoffed before following him, "Oh please. As if some simple obstacles will stop me."
The girl didn't respond to that other than letting out a hum. It was then they reached the new... floor.
And Byakuya realised the obstacles were literal. There was rubble everywhere. Pieces of wall were laying on the ground.
It looked like a battlefield. There was even some dried blood on the ground.
Interesting...
As they continued to walk, Byakuya quickly covered up the surprise on his face that had formed when he saw the appearance of the floor.
Despite all of the rubble, the room looked vaguely familiar. A quick opening of a door proved his suspicions right- on the other side of it was a dorm room, though it didn't look to be in its best state.
Maybe Kyoko stayed here after he had taken away her key... She seems to know this place well enough...
The blonde kept that thought in mind as he closed the door. Once he did that, Kyoko began to walk again until they reached another room.
Opening the large wooden door, Kyoko stepped inside and help the door open for Byakuya. He didn't bother to thank her as he stepped into the room.
It had a very different atmosphere from the dorm room Byakuya had just seen- and any other rooms for that matter.
This room was much more like the ones in his mansion, more adult-like.
Everything was sleek and neat. There was a large bed in the right corner with grey covers, with a nightlamp next to it. There were also a few cabinets and tables, though they didn't interest Byakuya.
What did interest him, however, was the desk on the left side of the room. It was an average looking wooden desk, but what was interesting was the computer that was placed on the desk.
"This is the headmaster's private room," Kyoko spoke up, something in her eyes Byakuya couldn't quite decipher. "I've been through this room several times already, but I still have one little... Well, I decided to check it out one more time." She said cryptically.
What did she mean with that...?
The way she said that was interesting to say the least. A bit suspicious too. But, Byakuya had more important matters to think about. That computer for one instance.
Byakuya walked towards the computer, and as he did, the detective spoke up. "Whoever used this last, it looks like they were very interested in the Ultimate Despair. The computer still has some search results left on it..."
He hummed, "So, we might be able to get some info on the Ultimate Despair?" The heir asked, his gaze focused on the computer.
"There's not much, though. Nothing we don't already know," Kyoko said, shaking her head. "'The Ultimate Despair isn't one individual, but instead points to some kind of group. That group is responsible for The Tragedy, which happened one year ago. They're the worst sorts of people, whose driving force comes from despair...'"
