Kyoko looked behind her as she heard Chihiro scream. The programmer seemed to have lost his footing, luckily Hiro managed to grab him before he hit the ground. He was now breathing heavily and tears prickled at the corners of his eyes. It was a surprise that he wasn't crying yet.
Kyoko felt a tinge of pity as she continued to take in Chihiro's situation, but shoved it down.
Now is not the time.
She also ignored the wanting to investigate the crime scene, knowing that she had to wait.
"Hiro," Kyoko began, looking the boy in the eyes. "Can you get the others here... we need to start investigating as soon as possible," she explained, her tone authoritative.
"Y-yeah, sure thing, Kyoko. You take care of the little dude, 'kay?" Hiro asked, removing his arms from Chihiro.
Kyoko nodded in return and watched as Hiro left the room. She knelt beside Chihiro before speaking.
Why did it have to be her?
"Chihiro," She began, frowning slightly when the boy didn't look up at her. "I'm going to need you to listen to me. Do you understand?" Kyoko asked.
Chihiro nodded in return, though he still didn't look up at her.
"Right. Now, it seems like you are most likely having some form of a panic attack right now," Kyoko explained, using her... limited knowledge on the subject.
"Concentrate on your breathing. Breathe in and out, slowly, just... follow my lead," Kyoko commanded, though her tone was soft.
She began breathing slowly and kept talking to Chihiro for the next few minutes until he finally seemed to have calmed down.
"T-thank you, Kyoko. I have- I don't know how that happened..." Chihiro said, taking deep breaths between every few words.
Kyoko stood up again and opened her mouth to speak when Hiro opened the door, four people behind him.
"My, my. This is quite the scene," Byakuya said with a smirk on his face, looking at Hifumi's corpse.
"At least pretend to show some compassion!" Hina said, glaring at Byakuya. There were a few tears in her eyes.
The heir simply rolled his eyes in response before turning his head to look at Chihiro who was still sitting on the ground, tears flowing freely. Kyoko saw the slightest hint of concern in the blonde's eyes before he turned away.
Just then, Monokuma appeared.
"Looks like you kiddos made quite the mess again, puhuhu!~" The bear began, giggling a bit.
"Monokuma," Taka began before he could get another word out. "Just give us the file."
"Aww..." Monokuma said, sadness in his voice. Kyoko was sure the bear would have pouted if he were able to.
"Okay then!" Monokuma began, suddenly happy now. "Have fun investigating!" With that, he left.
Kyoko supressed a sigh and looked at the Monokuma file.
Victim: Hifumi Yamada
"The time of death was around 9pm."
"The body was found in classroom 2-A."
"The victim took a blow to the head and has a slit throat."
"Other than that, there are traces of suffocation around the victim's throat."
No cause of death...
The Monokuma file gave several options to how Hifumi was killed. What actually killed him, Kyoko needed to find out during the investigation. Speaking of the investigation...
