Byakuya's words had hurt. A lot. And while exploring the third floor with Mondo did help a bit, Chihiro couldn't forget those words. The worst part of it all was that Byakuya was right; Chihiro was spending a lot of time with Byakuya because the latter knew his secret. Granted, it hadn't been all that long since Byakuya knew. Still, Chihiro felt like he should have known that Byakuya wouldn't want to be friends, especially not in a situation like this. It was a dumb idea to begin with.
Then, there was also a part of him that still wanted to be friends with Byakuya. There was something so familiar about talking to Byakuya in a friendly matter. Almost as if that was normal. As if they knew each other before. It was the same kind of familiarity that he felt when he first talked to Makoto; there was something special about the luckster and Chihiro really thought they had met before.
There was also a part of him that knew it was best to just listen to what Mondo had said.
"Look, just think about the dude, okay? Byakuya just got a huge stick up his ass. I'm not sure why you started talkin' to him in the first place. He just sucks. So, just forgot about him. You're worth more like he will ever be."
Chihiro had laughed at that and wiped his tears, though he didn't feel all that better. He really thought it was going to be the beginning of a friendship, though it seemed like he guessed wrong...
Chihiro took a deep breath. Now was no time to think about such things. He had something else important. Something he may have forgotten about due to the murder and everything else that happened.
Chihiro went in the bathhouse after making sure nobody was following him. He went to the lockers and pulled one of them open. Inside was his most prized possession here, Alter Ego. Chihiro opened it and turned it on. He was instantly greeted by Alter Ego.
"Master! You're here!"
Chihiro gave a big smile and began writing on the keyboard.
"I'm sorry that it took me a while to get a hold of you. You see, another murder happened."
"It's alright, Master! I'm glad you are still alive! Though if I may ask, who died?"
"Toko murdered Celeste."
"Oh, that is... unfortunate."
"It is. Now, how far are you on decrypting those files?"
"Well, it's gonna take a while. But I'm definitely gonna do it, so you can just leave it to me, Master!"
"Of course. I'm afraid I have to leave you again, though I promise to be back soon!"
"Okay! Bye-bye!"
With that, Chihiro shut the computer off and put it back in one of the lockers, making sure to lock it. While he wanted to take Alter Ego with him, he knew it was better for him to stay here, since there were no camera's.
Even with how much he tried not to, his thoughts always strayed back to his last conversation with Byakuya. He knew he had angered the heir and a part of him wanted to apologise. The other part of him didn't; it was not like he meant to anger Byakuya like that. And apologising would just make him feel like his weak self. Though, is he really stronger now?
Chihiro decided that apologising could come later. He was first going to grab some lunch and maybe spend some time with somebody.
When Chihiro walked into the dining hall, the only other people were Hina, Sakura and Makoto. Hina and Sakura seemed to be talking about something sport related with Hina eating some donuts and Sakura just having a protein shake. Makoto was making his lunch. Chihiro decided to join him.
