"A body has been discovered! After a certain amount of time, which you may use however you like, the class trial will begin!" Monokuma's voice ran out.

"Wha-what?!" Hiro screamed

"This is... rather unfortunate. Hiro, could you inform our classmates. I assume Monokuma will arrive shortly," Kyoko said, an almost unnoticeable amount of sadness in her voice.

"O-okay."

It didn't take long for the others to arrive. The whole time, however, Kyoko just stood there, not making a move yet to investigate.

Soon after everyone arrived, Monokuma appeared.

"My, my, you kids really had me wait! It took almost the full three days! And the first one who tried, didn't even succeed!"

"Yes. How sad. Now give us the Monokuma file."

"Here you go! Looks like it's time to find out who killed our unlucky student!" With that, Monokuma left.

Chihiro took a look at the Monokuma file.

Victim: Makoto Naegi

"The time of death was around 4am."

"The body was found in the third-floor school area, in the backroom of the art classroom."

"The body was stabbed multiple times and took a blow to the head."

"Let's not waste any more time. Sakura, Mondo, would the two of you watch over the body?"

They both gave a nod.

"Chihiro, you're with me."

"W-what? Why me Kyoko?"

"Last investigation you helped Byakuya, right? I thought that you could help me this time."

"R-right. Lead the way!"

Kyoko walked to the body. Chihiro saw Byakuya with the help of, surprisingly, Hina investigating the room.

Kyoko spoke as she crouched down.

"The Monokuma file doesn't say what killed him, it only says what was used to kill him. That's weird, don't you think?"

"Y-yeah..."

"These carving chisels are probably the things with which he was stabbed. As for the blow to the head..." Kyoko lifted Makoto's bloody head up. "It seems that he was only hit once. The object had to be something blunt and bigger than my hand."

Then, Kyoko picked something small up in her gloved hand.

"Interesting... there are small chips of wood in his head wound. So, the weapon must have been made of wood."

"So, maybe like a hammer or something? There are a few hammers on the wall here."

"That could fit the description. Why don't you look at the hammers while I inspect the body further?"

"O-okay!"

Chihiro walked to the wall and saw the multiple sizes hammers hanging there. They went from small to big and nothing really looked out of place, which was at least what Chihiro thought. When he looked a little bit closer, he saw a splatter of blood on one of the bigger hammers.

Chihiro carefully grabbed the hammer from the wall and inspected it further. Unlike the front where only a splatter of blood could be seen, the back had much more blood. There also looked to be some resident of water on it, like somebody tried to clean it and while it was almost unnoticeable, small bits of wood seemed to be missing at the front, interrupting the otherwise smooth surface.

Chihiro walked to Kyoko with the hammer.

"I think that this was used..."

Kyoko looked up.

"it does seem to match up with the wound. This hammer must be what was used to kill Makoto."

"What about the chisels?"

"After closer inspection, I found out that they were made post-mortem. The killer probably wanted to distract us."

"I didn't find anything else that could lead us to the killers identity. I found no other wounds on Makoto's body and nothing like a note or anything."

"Let's continue with the crime scene itself, I have a feeling that we might find something." After having said that, Kyoko began walking towards the multiple canvasses that lay on the ground. Chihiro went back to the wall with the hammers.

The first thing he found was a small puddle of water right under the hammers. He could see some blood mixed in with it. The puddle wasn't big and it looked like there was some attempt at cleaning it up, though it looked to be hasty.

Chihiro also saw that five of the carving chisels that hung left of the hammers were missing. Four ended up in Makoto's body, though Chihiro had no idea where the fifth one went. The rest of the art equipment was still in their place, with nothing looking weird.

Chihiro walked towards the left of the room, where he found the trash cans. In one of the trash cans were multiple empty water bottles. Rummaging through the trash cans, Chihiro didn't find anything else. That was until he reached the last one. At the bottom of the trash can, Chihiro found a wet cloth covered in a mixture between blood and water.

When he met back up with Kyoko, he found out that she had found the missing chisel between the canvasses. It looked normal and unlike the others, wasn't covered in blood. Chihiro shared his findings with her.

"Weird. Why would the killer hide this one? They hadn't made an effort to hide the others and this one wasn't covered in blood or anything else..."

"Well, let's think about that later. What is really interesting is the cloth. If it were only used to clean up the blood from the hammer, it wouldn't be as bloody..."

"Are you saying that it must have been used for something else?"

"Yes. I can't think of any other reason why the cloth would be so bloody. When mixed with water, the colour would be less saturated. The cloth, was quite red. That would mean that it was used to clean up a lot of blood. Though I'm not sure what exactly the murderer cleaned up..."

"For now, let's focus on maybe getting some alibi's and checking out Makoto's room. As for now we only know that it can't be Byakuya or Hina, due to their... meeting. If we can get some accounts, we might be able to narrow our suspects down."
