Breakfast was silent. Too silent.

When they'd all come together, Chihiro had told the others about Alter Ego- the others were naturally confused about him, after all.

That led to Byakuya explaining to Chihiro and the others what Monokuma had told him- apparently, Monokuma had given him a look at Kyoko's student profile in return for messing with the crime scene.

It was the reason why Byakuya had distrusted Kyoko so much- he believed he was hiding her talent.

Chihiro supposed that sentiment couldn't be blamed. He would've been suspicious too.

And it was that suspicion that led Kyoko to her execution and Chihiro had no idea of knowing if she was alive.

At least that's what he thought.

He didn't expect the dining hall doors to open while eating breakfast. And he certainly didn't expect for Kyoko to be standing on the other side.

"K-Kyoko...?" Chihiro stuttered, unable to say anything else.

The lavender-haired girl was standing there- alive!- with some dirt and... trash on her.

"Kyoko! It's you!" Hina exclaimed and before anybody could even blink, she ran over to Kyoko and hugged her. "I-I'm so sorry for distrusting you!"

"I believe we all are," Sakura added, a slight smile on her face.

Kyoko stepped away from the hug. "It's... fine," She said, shaking her head slightly.

"It's good to see you again, Kyoko!" Taka said with a smile, clear relief in his eyes.

"I'm..." Byakuya began before cutting himself off. "You smell," He said instead.

That was true, Chihiro could smell it. Kyoko quite literally smelled like trash. Chihiro had no doubt that the lavender-haired girl had a good reason for that.

"I fell into the garbage," Kyoko explained bluntly. "But we have no time for this. I talked with Monokuma and we'll be redoing Mukuro's trial."

"What!? Seriously!?" Hina asked, gasping as she took a step backwards.

The... detective nodded, "Yes. I didn't kill her and neither did Chihiro, so we're redoing it."

"But... if neither of you killed her, then who did?" Taka asked, his brows furrowed in confusion.

Chihiro was quite sure he knew the answer that, but he still couldn't find the power to speak.

Seeing Kyoko here. Alive... It made him so hopeful.

This wasn't like when he thought she was died when they found Mukuro's body- this was different.

Back then- which really was just a day ago- Chihiro could stay hopeful because they weren't sure. But... they saw Kyoko get executed. Chihiro saw Alter Ego's face appear. He saw Kyoko fall.

And now he saw her standing in front of him.

"What she's saying is, it was all the work of the mastermind," Byakuya explained, clicking his tongue in annoyance.

"So... You're saying that the mastermind killed Mukuro?" Sakura asked with a thoughtful expression on her face.

Kyoko nodded, "That's right. It was all an elaborate trap contrived by the mastermind. I spotted the trap in time, and did what I had to do to stop it..." She explained, pausing slightly. "But... that led to me getting executed."

"But executing me, who wasn't the blackened, is a clear violation of the school regulations. The rules state that only the blackened is to be executed," Kyoko continued, a very slight smirk on her face.
