Despite being woken up in the middle of the night... again , Chihiro actually had a decent sleep! This is also why he wasn't awoken by the familiar Monokuma announcement, but instead by the ringing of his doorbell.
After letting out a sneeze- Was he getting sick? And groggily standing up, he opened his door. To his surprise, he found Taka standing on the other side. The moral compass was smiling, though it wasn't as big of a smile as before.
Still, Chihiro was happy with this progress, even if he didn't know what caused it!
"Ah, hello, Chihiro! I hope you have slept well?" Taka asked, his eyes shining a bit.
Chihiro nodded, still a bit sleepy. "Y-yeah, I slept pretty good," He paused for a second, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, "But w-what are you doing here?"
Taka's response was immediate and unexpected. "To inform you of the new morning meetings! Everyone else is already there, so we're waiting for you!"
Hold on- Morning meetings?
"H-huh what? Since when were there morning meetings a-again?" Chihiro asked the other boy, feeling as if he was dreaming due to Taka's words.
"Since now! I'll explain more later, but if you could change into some more appropriate clothing for now..." Taka said, glancing at Chihiro's pyjama's.
Chihiro felt a flush of embarrassment rise to his cheeks. "A-ah, right. I'll change... Bye," He shut the door in Taka's face and immediately felt guilty. For a moment he wondered if he should open the door and apologize to Taka, but he eventually decided against it.
After all, he still had to change and he didn't want to keep the others waiting.
His outfit wasn't anything special, just a light blue dress shirt and black pants, similar to all of the outfits he's worn before after his wardrobe change.
He quickly brushed his hair- still slightly annoyed at that one piece that wouldn't stay down- and left his room, walking quickly to the dining hall.
Just like Taka had said everybody else was already there: Sakura and Hina were chatting excitedly to one another, Byakuya was sitting at the main table though he was still seated for away from the rest and Taka himself was writing down something in a notebook. The only one who wasn't here was-
"Ah, Chihiro, there you are! Sit down so we can begin!" Taka said, the same smile as before on his face, though it was a little less vibrant.
Chihiro did as he was told and sat down next to Byakuya, wanting to close the emptiness at the table. However, one thing still bothered him...
"Hold on... W-where's Kyoko? Shouldn't she be here as well?" Chihiro asked, looking at Taka confused.
Taka opened his mouth to respond, yet before he could do that a voice next from Chihiro spoke up.
"She wasn't in her room. How surprising. And we simply don't need her and her mysteries here," Byakuya explained, his annoyance quite clear in both his voice and expression.
"Hey!" Hina said, glaring slightly at Byakuya. "You don't have to say it like that! Kyoko's..." She trailed off, not quite knowing what to say.
Byakuya rolled his eyes in response and a small smirk formed on his face. "See. There you have it."
Hina opened her mouth to retort but was quickly stopped when Taka started talking.
"Alright! Now that everyone is here, we can start!" Taka begins his smile twitching slightly for a moment, "From now on we'll be resuming our morning meetings at seven-thirty every single day!"
So... the meetings were back. It was weird, yet at the same time nice. To be one group again. All together... except Kyoko that is.
"Taka, if I may ask, what is the reason why you've reinstated these meetings now?" Sakura spoke up, voicing- most likely- everybody's thoughts on the subject.
As Sakura asked this question, Chihiro saw Byakuya shift slightly, like the answer intrigued him.
"Well, with recent things come to light-" He began, obviously referring to Sakura's and Kyoko's... situations, "-I've decided that it's best that we work together again!"
At this, Byakuya shifted slightly once again, but did not open his mouth to respond, much to Chihiro's surprise.
Did something happen of which he wasn't aware? Is that why Taka is so much... happier?
"Yeah, right!" Hina exclaimed, pouting slightly. "While I love the idea, I doubt Mr. Rich Snob over there does the same."
This turned Byakuya's gaze to Hina. "I won't disrupt any attempts at... befriending one another for now," The heir surprisingly explained, his disgust clear as he said the word "befriending".
Never once did Chihiro think he would hear Byakuya say that. Sure, he may consider the blonde his friend, but even his optimism has its limits. However, Chihiro seemed to be proven wrong and he was quite happy about it!
"Ah, yes. Byakuya and I talked yesterday and we came to an... agreement," Taka said while glancing at the heir who only nodded in agreement.
This was... weird to know. Something definitely happened yesterday and Chihiro wanted to know what it was. So, he had to talk to Taka... Getting such information out of Byakuya was the same as writing a long code without any errors the first time- impossible.
"Now, that was all for this meeting! You may go now!" Taka continued, his smile back again.
"Very well then," Sakura said, standing up, "Let's go then, dear. I believe you wanted to take a swim?"
Hina's pout immediately disappeared and she seemed to light up at that. "Oh, yes! Let's go!" She too stood up and grabbed Sakura's hand.
It was funny to see that despite Sakura being the stronger one, she let Hina drag her away. The two girls quickly left the room, leaving the three boys alone.
Chihiro took this as his chance and stood up. "A-ah, Taka? I was wondering if maybe we could talk..." The programmer asked, fidgeting slightly with the sleeve of his shirt.
Taka's smile grew in response. "Of course, Chihiro! I'd be more than-" He was suddenly cut off.
"No. We're going to talk already," Byakuya cut in, looking at the two standing boys while still seated at the table.
"H-huh? I didn't know you wanted t-to talk to me," Chihiro said, feeling quite a bit confused. After all, normally if Byakuya wanted to talk to him, it wouldn't be this open...
"That's because I meant him, not you," Byakuya explained, pointing a finger at an equally confused Taka.
So, Byakuya wanted to talk with Taka... Something definitely happened between those two.
"O-oh, um, alright then... I'll talk to you later then!" Chihiro said before Taka could even talk, giving his two friends a slightly nervous smile before leaving the room.
What he wanted to ask Taka could wait... After all, he doubted Byakuya just wanted to make small talk with the other boy, knowing him.
Maybe he would use this time to read in the library; with Byakuya always there he didn't get much of a chance to read while in it.
