That body. Chihiro recognised it. After what happened last night, it would almost be impossible not to.
It was the masked person who was in his room. Who had stolen the knife. And now the knife was right into their stomach. While they were hanging from a tree.
How that happened Chihiro didn't know. But it was his job to find that out now. Just like with every murder.
Those thoughts didn't prevent him from letting out a scream. "Wh-What the...!?"
He wasn't the only one disturbed by their current situation.
"A-Are they really dead!?" Taka asked no one in particular, though the answer was unfortunately quite obvious.
"It seems so..." Sakura said, her normal calmness replaced by a mix of surprise and sorrow.
Byakuya, for his part, looked mostly undisturbed. "But who... is it?"
Chihiro didn't know how to answer that. He knew that he was the only one of the group who had seen them before. But... he didn't think that this was the right time. They had a murder to solve... and while this may be important to solve it, it could wait.
Byakuya let out a sigh. "Whatever. You need to begin looking around right away. However... Be ever so careful. There's no telling what you might find," He said, though his voice was cold, with no real concern to be found.
Not that Chihiro expected there to be any.
Without another word, Chihiro approached the body hanging from the palm tree, though he made sure not to touch it.
They need to find out who this actually was...
Unfortunately, there was no way to tell with the mask covering their face. And the white coat the person was wearing made it impossible to tell anything about the body itself.
The victim was a total mystery... The only thing Chihiro and only Chihiro knew that whoever was behind the mask was the person who was in his room last night.
Who that was? Chihiro couldn't say he knew, unfortunately.
The programmer was so lost in his thoughts that he jumped slightly into the air when a cold, yet intrigued voice came from beside him.
"Hmm... They appear to be dead and Thanks to the knife that's been driven into their stomach, their clothes are stained a bright red," Byakuya paused for a moment, looking at the small puddle of blood that was on the ground. It appears the bleeding has stopped, but the blood that's there is still wet. For some reason, they're also hanging on this tree..."
Chihiro didn't respond, but he too looked down at the puddle of blood under the victim. It could barely be even called a puddle and for some reason it felt too small for such a wound...
"Just who is it though...? Both their face and body are hidden..." Taka muttered, looking at the body with an intense gaze.
Hina let out a small sigh as she turned to look at the body. "I'm pretty sure it's a girl at least..."
"Hm, that does make sense," Sakura agreed, though she gave no further information.
"H-huh, how can you tell?" Chihiro asked. While he had a vague idea of why, he wanted to be sure. He had to be.
"Well...I think I see the outline of her chest. And just the general shape of the body... Yeah, the more I look, the more I'm sure it's a girl," Hina explained, her voice growing more slightly confident than before.
If the body was a girl, then it could be... Kyoko.
"To be sure... Maybe we should remove the body from the tree!" Taka said, eyeing the old rope that was used to hang the body with before walking forward and grabbing one leg, pushing slightly.
