It was weird to actually read while in the library. Most- if not all- of the times Chihiro had been in the library, he had ended up talking to Byakuya. Sometimes it was on purpose, other times it was not.
So, actually sitting in the chair that the heir practically seemed to live in and just... read was weird, to say the least. In a good way.
Chihiro had always liked libraries. They were a place of quiet, something that the programmer thoroughly enjoyed. He couldn't say he was a fan of big, loud, spaces.
That's why the library was nice. So, getting to read while in it was something that Chihiro really did enjoy!
Of course, things didn't stay quiet. In a place like Hope's Peak Academy, they never did.
Still, Chihiro was surprised to see just who had entered the library.
"Ah, Chihiro! There you are. I've been looking all over for you!" Taka said, smiling at him.
He seems quite happy!
That was a good thing! It was great to see that Taka was recovering, even not fully, from Mondo's death.
In response, Chihiro couldn't smile back, though he was still a bit confused. "H-huh, you were?" He asked in response, setting his book down.
He didn't know why the other boy was looking for him... The last thing he remembered was that Tak was talking with Byakuya- it was the only reason why he could read in the library after all.
Taka's smile was replaced with confusion for a moment, but it quickly got back in place. "You said at breakfast that you wanted to talk to me, right...? Unless I didn't remember it correctly..."
Oh, right!
Chihiro had completely forgotten he had asked the moral compass to talk with him! He had gotten a bit too wrapped up in the environment of the library...
Whoops...!
"A-ah, that's right. Sorry, I forgot for a m-moment..." Chihiro responded awkwardly, a slight blush of embarrassment rising to his cheeks.
He wanted to talk about something important... and completely forgot.
"It's quite alright, Chihiro!" Taka reassured, his smile not fading, "So, what did you want to talk about?"
Chihiro fidgeted a bit in his seat before answering, "Why don't you, um, sit down first..." He paused, watching as Taka gave a nod and sat down. "S-so, um, not to be mean or anything, but, well..." The programmer trailed off, not exactly knowing how to voice his words.
"But what? You can tell me, Chihiro! We are friends after all!" Taka paused for a moment, his voice turning slightly hesitant, "Right...?"
Chihiro immediately nodded. "O-of course, it's not that! It's just, um..." He took a deep breath and tried to look Taka in the eye. "You and Byakuya just seem more... friendly, I suppose. And I was wondering if something happened yesterday...?"
After saying those words, Chihiro lowered his gaze to the ground. The people saying that you'll feel better after asking- or saying- something difficult are liars. Chihiro didn't feel better nor did he feel relieved. He was still very anxious.
"Hm, yes... I suppose you could say something did happen. Now, I doubt Byakuya would like me sharing our exact conversation..." He began, seemingly thinking over his every word. "But I think I can tell you that... we formed an alliance of some sorts."
So, that's what happened?
Chihiro was left with more questions than before. Byakuya forming an alliance with anybody felt just... weird. Let alone with Taka.
