Chihiro knew what Byakuya wanted to talk with him about. After all, the note specified that he should bring coffee with him and he still remembered that conversation with Byakuya. It wasn't hard to put two and two together...
So, Chihiro made a cup of coffee, hoping that it was good enough for the heir and walked to the library, the walk familiar by now. After all, he had been there more times than he could count- most of the time just wanting to talk with Byakuya.
He had put the knife he had gotten- he still couldn't believe that they wanted him to have it- in one of his desk drawers; it was the safest place he could think of. It wasn't like he had any other places to keep it.
Sure, he could have kept it under his bed, but maybe that would have been too obvious... and, well, Chihiro would prefer if it was a bit less close to him when he slept.
...That is if he actually remembered to lock his door which he did, this time! See, he learned from his mistakes. Now he won't wake up with Kyoko standing over him again!
Right, Kyoko. Truth be told, Chihiro still wasn't sure what to think of the girl. He wanted to trust her, he really did... but he knew that she was hiding something.
And while she might not even remember that something due to her amnesia, it could also just be true that she was lying. With Kyoko, it was hard to tell...
For now, he figured that it was best just to hear out Byakuya, though he would take the information with a grain of salt since it was Byakuya he was taking about.
Speaking of him, said blonde was already sitting in the library when he entered, his eyes focused on a book. Byakuya didn't even look up as he walked in, just kept reading.
It wasn't until Chihiro had actually reached the table the taller boy was sitting at that he actually reacted.
"You've brought my coffee with you, right?" Byakuya asked, raising one eyebrow as he turned the page of the book he was reading.
Chihiro nodded, though he wasn't even sure if the heir could see it. "Y-yes. Just like you asked."
Byakuya let out a hum in response, finally taking his eyes of his book. "And did anybody see you?"
"I-well, I don't think so," Chihiro answered, unsure where the other boy was going with this.
Why would it matter if anybody saw him...?
"Good. Wouldn't want any chance of Kyoko finding out what we're doing here, don't we?" Byakuya asked, taking a sip of the coffee.
Well... Chihiro was still not sure about that, but he nodded nonetheless. "Y-yeah..." He responded when a sudden realisation hit him. "Is that, um, why you had me bring you coffee... as an excuse?"
Byakuya smirked slightly in respond. "Looks like someone is getting more observant," He noticed, pausing slightly before continuing, "But to answer your question: yes. I needed a reason to have you here and somehow, I doubt that Kyoko would believe we're starting a literature club."
"Heh, r-right. She probably wouldn't..." Chihiro agreed, letting out a short laugh. Was Byakuya actually making a joke for once...
Then, Byakuya put his book down, staring right at Chihiro in a way that made him a bit uneasy. "So, onto business. Like I said before, Kyoko can't be trusted."
"B-but why though? I mean, I-I know you have your reasons, but you've n-never even told us what t-they were," Chihiro responded, stuttering more than he had in the past few weeks.
"Come now, haven't I given you enough hints already? I thought it was quite obvious what point I was making earlier today," The heir said, a condescending edge to his voice that Chihiro decided to ignore for the time being- he had to focus on what Byakuya had said.
