Unpacking their things from the trunk, Mae begins to walk over to her car but Dean stops her. "Hey, don't tell me you're hitting the road already?"

"I was hoping to get going before it got too late."

He takes her bag and heads to the door of the bunker. "It already is pretty late, you should just stay over."

"Oh really?" She laughs, catching up to him.

"Yeah, it's going to be dark soon and we'd rather you stay in that room you picked out instead of some motel on the road."

"Right, that room that's right next to yours..." She chuckles at his grin, as they walk into the war room.

"Just another perk of staying over."

"Oh, do tell about these perks."

"Well, they are many and varied, starting with yours truly." Dean boasts but stops when he sees a certain trench coat clad angel. "Hey Cas, how goes the hunt for Lucifer?"

"Horrible... Who's this?" He asks, his eyes landing on Mae.

Oh crap, he's an angel! She breathes in and out. Power down. Smiling shyly, she extends her hand to him. "Hi Castiel, I'm Mae."

He tilts his head slightly to the side almost as if he's not sure what's going on. "Hello."

"I've been helping out the guys a little." She says, as he shakes her hand.

Unable to hide his unease, he smiles tensely. "Yes, Sam and Dean have said you are a talented hunter."

"Don't forget the food and the pie!" Dean reminds him.

Sam overhears, as he enters through the door. "Oh yeah, amazing little pies."

"You also promised to make more." Dean smirks and pulls her to his side by her hip.

Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she smiles at him. "Of course, in fact I'll look and see what I can whip together after I get situated in my room."

A large dopey grin fills his face. "I'll help you with your bags." She's staying!

Guiding her through the archway that leads to the rooms, he tosses her bag over his shoulder. "Do you need anything for tonight, like toothpaste or something?"

"Nah, I have everything I need in my duffle but thanks."

Passing his door he nods to it. "Well if you do need something during the night..."

"I'll know right where to go to ask." She finishes.

They both enter the next room over and he puts her bag on the bed and looks around, searching for words to say. "It's not much but it's yours."

"It's perfect Dean." She takes his hand in hers and squeezes gently.

A sudden look of concern arises on his face and she panics. "Do you know where the bathroom is?"
Her face relaxes back into a smile. "Yes, you guys showed me the night we had dinner and researched our first case."

"Oh right, good."

"I'm going to freshen up and then I'll look and see what I can make for dessert."

"Ok, see you out there."

As Dean rounds the corner in the hall, she peers after him from the doorway. Spinning back into the room, she puts her back to the wall and pauses with her hand on her chest. That was close... at least Castiel isn't an archangel or else he probably would have been able to sense me...

Cas watches Dean and Mae walk out of the room with many questions circling in his head. There is something about her that he can't quite put his finger on. What was that? Was that power emission from her?

"Sam... what do you know about her?"

The youngest Winchester looks up from his laptop. "Umm, she likes science, she hunts well, has a vast knowledge about Hunters and the creatures we hunt, she makes great food." He pauses and thinks for a moment. "Grew up with her grandparents but lost them at fifteen and then Bobby trained her. But we just found out about the Bobby thing last night."

"Hmm, sounds like you two have been spending a lot of time with her."

"We've known her for about two months now but this is only our second case together." Sam replies.

Dean enters the room with a shocked expression. "Wow, only two months, it feels like way more."

"Yeah, I bet." Sam banters.

Cas gives Sam a questioning look, so he explains. "Dean's kinda in love with her."

"Hey, I wouldn't say I'm in love with her... I just can't stop thinking about her."

The angel squints at the eldest brother in confusion. "This seems very fast. Have you considered if this is a spell or siren venom or something?"

"Wait, did you sense that she's a siren?" Dean asks, alarm overtaking his features.

Cas's brow creases, as he tries to distinguish her aura. "No... I felt something there but not a siren, which is why I asked if it was a siren's venom."

"Is that on the black market or something?" Sam wonders.

"It is quite difficult to attain but not impossible."

Dean puts his hand up to stop the conversation. "Ok, great piece of info to know but you said you sensed something, what did you feel from her?"

"I am not sure, there is power there and it is slightly familiar but also unlike anything that I know."

"What do you mean, you're not sure!?" Dean's temper starts to rise.

"Exactly that."

Sam interjects. "She hasn't shown any powers yet, I was thinking she might just be human."

"No. There is definitely more to her but what it is I do not know."

Dean's face stones over. "We've been trying to test her and figure out why I feel this way but haven't found anything."

"What I'd really like to know is, do you sense any evil with her?"
Pausing and concentrating once more. "No, nothing evil."

"That's good to know." The sound of relief in Dean's voice is palpable.

"I guess we can relax then."

"No Sam, I believe you should still be on alert." Castiel warns. "Like I said this is something unknown to me, so please take caution."

Dean nods. "Sure thing Cas. Oh, by the way, can you heal my head?"

"Of course." Cas puts his two fingers on Dean's forehead and they both close their eyes. "Why have you waited so long to ask me to heal you?"

Dean gives him a confused look. "I didn't, it just happened a few hours ago."

"What?" The angel's eyes narrow. "That injury seemed partially healed."

"Huh?" Both brothers just look at each other and shrug.

"How did..."

Just then they hear her moving around in the kitchen, Sam's eyes go wide with an idea. "Do you think she's putting something in the food?"

"I thought of that already, Sammy but she didn't make any food the first few times and I've felt like this since the beginning."

"That's true." Sam says, thinking about it. "We ordered the food the night she came here."

Peeking her head through the kitchen door, she shouts. "Hey, you guys good with peanut butter cookies?"

"Hell yeah!" Dean hollers back and dashes off to the kitchen, leaving Sam and Cas in his wake.

"That is not careful." Cas sighs, looking over to Sam.

"Now you see what I'm dealing with? And it's not only him, I've noticed he affects her too."

"Really? Now that is interesting."

"We might want to get in there before Dean eats them all."

Cas pauses before he replies. "I think it would be a good idea to spend more time with her, perhaps I can figure out what's going on." And why her power feels like I should know it.
