Not long into the game Castiel gets a call about a possible lead on Lucifer, so he leaves in a hurry, the sound of his wings rustling announcing his departure. Sam, Dean, and Mae continue on, putting his token and money back and his properties return to the unowned pile and up for grabs for whoever lands on them first. Unfortunately Sam is not making good real estate decisions and having a bit of a rough time holding onto his money.

"Come on Sam, you need to make up your mind."

Sam puts his fingertips together and rests them on his chin. "Hmm, let me think."

Dean huffs and looks to Mae for help. "I'm staying out of this."

"I'm gonna need an answer."

Sam smirks at his older brother. "I could give you my last cookie but..." He purses his lip and looks at Mae. "I think that would be an insult to the master baker."

"Yes, a major insult." Mae nods her head with a mischievous grin on her face.

Dean's jaw drops as Sam shoves the entire cookie into his mouth. "Just wait til you land on one of my properties, no more brotherly discounts, full price from now on."

"Wow Dean, you must have really wanted that cookie." Sam laughs while brushing a few crumbs off his favorite plaid shirt. "That's okay, soon enough it'll be my turn and I've got an ace up my sleeve that will get me some of my money back."

"What ace up your sleeve?"

"He plans on using most of his money to put houses on the set he owns."

They both stare at her in confusion. "How did you know what I was going to do?"

"Umm..." She pauses, looking a little flustered. "Just seemed like the only big move you had."

Brushing off the unease that he feels, Sam nods his head. "Yeah, I guess."

"Let's see if Sammy's big plan will pay off."

Sam's plan works to some extent but mainly just to keep him alive in the game for a little while longer but about a good hour and a half into the game Sam concedes defeat. The last of his assets are paid out to Mae when he lands on one of her properties with two houses built on it.

"Sorry Sam but I play to win."

He gives her a reassuring smile. "I understand, I guess I'm just horrible at being a tycoon."

"Nah, Sammy's never really had that killer instinct."

Scowling at Dean, Sam crosses his arms. "I'm a hunter, I've got plenty of killer instinct."

"Not what I meant." Dean waves him off. "You don't have a competitive drive."

"Whatever Dean, I'm gonna go catch up on my reading."

Dean's face scrunches up in confusion. "What reading we just finished a case?"

"You know there are books about things other than monsters and lore."

"You're such a nerd."

"Better than being..."

"Hey guys." Mae interrupts, getting their attention. "Game going on right now, have your marital spat later."

Sam stalks off to his room, leaving Dean and Mae to battle it out for top entrepreneur of Monopoly. They play for a few more hours both gaining more power but neither bankrupting the other. Eventually, Sam gets hungry and goes to the kitchen for a snack, when he hears their voices coming from the main room.

"You're still playing?"

Dean gives Sam an incredulous look. "Of course, no one's won yet."

"Do you know what time it is?"

"Oh wow." Mae exclaims, checking the time. "We could always pause the game and continue playing tomorrow."

Before Dean could respond, Cas returns and all eyes are on him. "That was a waste of time, there was no sign of Lucifer..." He pauses and looks around. "Wait, are you all still pretending to be robber barons?"

"They are." Sam replies. "I bankrupted out hours ago."

"As humans, you need to sleep to survive." Cas says. "Perhaps you should retire to your beds."

Mae holds her head. "I am getting pretty tired."

"I don't know if I'll be able to sleep if we don't find out who won." Dean says, staring fixedly at the board.

"How about this, you add up all your money and other assets and determine a winner that way." Sam suggests.

"That'll work."

"As long as it doesn't take too long to count because I need to go to sleep, I'm getting a headache." Mae responds, rubbing her temples.

Stepping forward Cas raises his hand. "I can add it up rather quickly, if you spread it all out for me."

They do as Cas asked and spread all their money and assets out on each side of the table. The angel inquires about a few details about the different properties and houses, then scans both sides within seconds.

"Done." Cas says with a nod of his head.

The other three stare at him and collectively exclaim. "Well?!"

"Mae won by ten thousand four hundred twenty seven dollars."

"What?" Dean blurts out. "How?"

Cas tilts his head to the side and scrunches his brow at Dean's outburst. "She had more money, properties, and houses than you did, it is quite clear that she won."

Dean pouts for a few seconds but then he begins to smile broadly. "Smart, beautiful, and a match for me with games, damn girl!"

Dean slides beside her and wraps his arm around her waist, while Sam reminds him. "Plus, she cooks and hunts like a pro."

"Guys stop." She looks to the floor while blushing. "You're embarrassing me."

"All true though." Dean smirks and pulls her closer to his side.

"Do not forget our conversation, Dean." Cas reminds him.

"Yeah Cas, I know." He responds and begins to steer Mae towards the hallway. "Gonna make sure she has everything she needs for bed."

Cas turns to Sam. "I hope he remains cautious."

"Me too. But I'm probably gonna have to check on him." And her too...
