Out in the main room, Sam begins to put away the game, when Cas picks up on a possible Lucifer lead on angel radio. As the angel transports himself out with a flutter of wings, a thought plants itself in Sam's head. That could give us more information about her, after I pack this up, I'll get on it.

After sorting the money into the right slots, putting back the tokens and deeds, and placing the game board on the top, Sam closes the lid and stacks it with the other games on the kitchen table. Walking back into the main room while pulling up his contact list on his phone, he reaches the table and sits at one of the chairs.

Dialing the first number on his list, he waits. "Well if it isn't Sam Winchester!"

"Hey Aaron, how goes it?"

"Not too bad, took out a wendigo last week. How about you?"

"Yeah, pretty good, we just got back from a vengeful spirit case."

"So is this a social call or do you need help on a hunt?"

Sam chuckles. "Social for the most part. I did have a question though."

"Ok, shoot."

"Have you ever heard of a hunter by the name of Mae?"

"Hmm, not that I can recall, let me check my book." Sam can hear the rustle of pages on the other end. "Nah, no mention of this Mae you're asking about."

"Ok, thanks for checking Aaron. Can you put some feelers out and ask some of the hunters you know?"

"Sure no problem, did she double cross you or something?"

"No, nothing like that, just want some information on her. I'm gonna go call a few others and see if they know anything."

"Alright Sam, have a good night."

"You too, again thanks."

Sighing he hangs up the phone and calls the next few numbers, leaving messages for those who didn't answer and getting the same response from those who did pick up, no one so far had ever heard of her.

"Hi Sam, how are you?"

"Pretty good Garth but I had a favor to ask."

"Alrighty dokie, what can I do for you?"

Shaking his head, Sam smirks at the dorky hunter's response. "Have you ever heard of a hunter named Mae?"

There is a bit of a long pause and Sam wonders if the call dropped. "Garth are you still there?"

"Umm, y-yeah, I'm here." He stammers. "Where did you hear that name?"

"Wait, you know of her?" Sam asks, his eyes nearly popping out of his head.

"Yeah, but you aren't going to like it."

"Why? What's up with her?"

"I don't know much of her as a hunter, only that she knew Bobby because when I took over his network of hunters, I had to call her to tell her of his passing."

Calming down some, Sam replies. "Yeah we knew about that, she told us on this last hunt."

"WHAT YOU'VE MET HER?" Garth screams and Sam needs to hold the phone away from his ear.

"Umm, yes. She's been helping us out on some cases, I mean she's part of the reason I got away from crazy Lady Bevel."

"Oh wow, that's huge! She hasn't hunted since Bobby died. She's more of a recluse than Frank."

"Ok Garth, why would any of this be something I wouldn't like?"

"Well... it's not so much her in the hunter world but her in the monster world. Most hunters won't know who she is because she goes by many different names to stay out of things but if you ask a monster about her you are going to get a different story."

"And what is that?"
"Well... her name is whispered in fear, especially before she disappeared but umm..." Here Garth takes a big breath and exhales loudly. "Upper level baddies have a bounty out on her."

"What?"

"Yeah, she's kinda like a supernatural boogeyman and she's rumored to be very powerful and lethal but you know I'm not sure if I can trust what some of these creatures say because their stories don't always match up and seem to get pretty far fetched."

"Like what?"

"Hmm, like fireballs, levitation, teleportation, unmatched fighting skills, superspeed, mind reading, I mean the list goes on and on so I don't really know what to believe and I've never met her to verify. Have you noticed anything?"

Scratching the back of his neck, Sam replies. "Nothing that I've noticed but she does fight well and likes to research."

"You guys are so lucky, I'd love to meet her in person, she's so mysterious."

"That's part of the reason I'm calling around and asking about her, she's been working with us and she said that she's only half human."

"Oh wow, so some of the rumors might be true..."

"We would like to know more about that, especially because her and Dean are getting kinda close."

"What, you mean like, he likes her?"

"In all honesty I think they've fallen for each other pretty bad already. " Garth starts to squeal in delight but Sam clears his throat. "But we are concerned because of this other half and how quickly they both became infatuated, it seemed to be almost instantaneous."

"Can you say power couple!"

"Ok Garth, reel it in. What about this bounty?"

"Right, this is where things get even more confusing, the bounty says she's wanted alive and mostly unharmed but there are two different names on the order."

"Do you know what they are?"

"That's the thing, the one I know from Bobby's phone is Maelle Quinn but the second one is shrouded in secrecy and only the higher levels are allowed to read it but I did see the first two letters once." Sam hears Garth's wife calling for him. "I gotta go, Sam, my lady needs me."

"Yeah, go on Garth but can you keep looking into this and get more information for us?"

"Sure, no problem." Garth responds rapidly and hangs up.

Sighing Sam sits back, letting his phone slide down from his hand to the table with a slight clunk. Running a hand through his hair, he stares off for a little bit, his mind going a million miles a minute. How much of what he said was real or rumor? I hope he can find out more from his connections. But at least I have a place to start, a full name.

After writing down everything he learned, Sam gets up to head to bed but he falters when he remembers something. Instead of heading straight for his room, he stealthily creeps over towards Dean's door. Risking a glance in, he's relieved to see Dean and only Dean laying on his bed. Sam backs away and treads softly off to his room, satisfied that Dean is listening to his and Cas's advice, at least for right now.
