Shobu let out heavy breaths, before clutching his chest. "Urk, agh!"

He had to exert even more pressure when Esdeath came up with the brilliant idea to drop a giant glacier of ice from the top of the pyramid down to the battlefields below, it took him almost everything in his power to stop and split apart the ice, but over half the bandits died in the meantime.

He took a deep breath. But still, better than them all dying to the goddamn iceberg. He thought, once more supporting the bandits as best he could.

A sudden wind blew in from the southwest, and Shobu shot his head over in that direction.

He suddenly had a bad feeling in his gut, and cursed.

That direction, Night Raid.

His eyes flared, fuck the bandits, if one of his family died while he wasn't around, he'd be much more pissed off then if they had to cancel the operation.

He ran over to the horse he had ridden here, and immediately took off in the direction where the rest of Night Raid set up, urging the horse to go as fast as it could.

He kept a vague concentration on the pyramid as well.

He won't be able to concentrate so much that he'd be able to still attack the Jaegers, but he can still sprout up crystal defences for the bandits, even when galloping away atop a horse.

"The crystals, stopped shooting as us?" Run realized, noticing the crystals atop the walls breaking apart, turning to dust. "The crystals he was firing at us have broken apart! We can focus more on offence!" Run announced to his teammates.

Esdeath smirked. "That last attack must've take a lot out of him, but admittedly even I can't do something like that a second time in a row right now, not when I'm working on my trump card." She thought aloud. "Alright then! Use more area wide attacks! Kill them all!" She shouted.

"Koro! Number three!" Seryu shouted, taking the order seriously.

Okami flinched. "Area wide attacks? I'm a brawler... ah fuck it."

...

Lubbock suddenly detected a movement in his wire, from the northeast, and realized it must've been Shobu, since it was just one person and they were moving rather fast.

He quickly made his way over to him, who stopped his horse as he saw the man in green.

"Lubbock! They're gonna be here within twenty minutes, we have to start wrapping this up!" Shobu announced, the horse doing a circle, restless. "Where is everyone?" He asked.

"That Bols guy set up a big bomb! We're calling it off, Chelsea managed to assassinate Bols, but she went after Kurome, I tried to warn her, but she was determined to see it through, I would've gone with her but..." Lubbock trailed off, but he understood.

"I got it, you had to keep an eye out for Esdeath, tell me which way she went, I have a bad feeling." Shobu said, pulling the reins on the horse to start prancing.

"She went North, through the forest up ahead, past that I don't know. Go fast, I also have a bad feeling." Lubbock admitted, pointing off in the direction she went in.

Shobu whipped the reigns, immediately charging off in that direction. "Thanks Lubbo!"

Lubbock nodded, a solemn expression on his face. "Just come back safe, the both of you." He mumbled, before turning back in the direction Night Raid was starting to recuperate. "I'll go relay the news."

...

A sudden chill went down Shobu's spine as he looked ahead, he saw nothing, but his horse, it wasn't going fast enough!
