Reunion

Upon reaching the base, Shobu searched the area, and came to a realization.

"They haven't been here for a few months, they haven't gotten back yet, the only person who is here is Chelsea, but she's resting right now, so let's leave her be." Shobu said, entering the base.

"Chelsea, I've heard of her, but I've never seen her." Seryu mumbled.

"Yeah, she got hurt pretty bad on that mission where I had trapped you guys in my Pyramid." He said.

Seryu perked up at that. "So that was you, I remember I had talked with Okami after that, he's astonished at your control of the crystals, apparently he can't even cover both of his arms with crystals before he gets a big overload." She said.

Shobu chuckled, scratching his cheek. "Yeah, I can't help but be a bit prideful of my control over it, but now comes the question, what now?" He asked aloud.

"Hm? What do you mean?" She asked back.

"Well, Chelsea is still asleep, we can leave to find where the rest of Night Raid is and help them get back faster, I'm assuming they had to travel on foot thanks to how much of the spy force was wiped out in Kyoroku." He explained.

Seryu thought for a moment. "That's, actually not a bad idea, Winter will be here soon, and if they're really walking they won't get here before it starts, they've got over five hundred kilometres to travel." She mumbled.

She stood up. "Alright, let's get some supplies set up and head out then."

He smirked. "Right."

The two went down to the pantry, stocking up on some food, before changing into clothing that will better suit the weather, Seryu borrowing some of Shobu's clothing.

As the two walked back out of the base, Shobu held out a hand, stopping Seryu.

"One second." He said, before letting out a loud whistle.

There was some silence, before a large white wolf came out from the forest.

"Huh? Isn't that Snow?" Seryu asked, having been introduced to Okami's two wolves.

Shobu grinned, leaning down to the wolf, petting his head as it snuggled up to his hand. "Yep, we've been using Snow and Soot to communicate." He explained, before tying a small letter around his neck. "Take this to Okami okay? We're going to be going again, looks like Chelsea's been remembering to feed you, so that's good." He pet the wolf some more, who licked his hand before prancing off, stopping only to lick Seryu's hand as well, and to rub her leg with his head, before continuing.

"Alright, don't move, I'm going to use some crystals to help us travel further, and then once I get tired we can take a break, because I'm still feeling sore from the day." Shobu said, rolling his arms.

Seryu nodded, wanting to see what he would do, and Shobu made a swiping motion with both hands, the two of them being lifted from the ground and pushed along by a large wave of crystal that molded around trees or other objects when needed.

Typically, he'd just run all the trees over, like he did the day he saved Chelsea, but this close to base it's best not to leave any sort of trail.

"Woah!" Seryu almost fell, losing balance for a second, and Shobu quickly added some more crystal to stabilize her.

"This is pretty nice, about how fast are we going?" She asked.
