Within the Capital.

Okami was standing up, sorely eating a small cheesecake with some difficulty, Run right next to him.

"I take it Commander didn't hold back?" Run asked, a smile on his face.

Okami chuckled. "Yeah, she doesn't like that Syura either, but I was still out of line." He responded. "Hah, it's cold out." He mumbled, looking up at the snowflakes falling from the sky.

Kurome and Wave were sitting down at the café just a little behind them, having their own moment.

Okami had stood over with Run, not wanting to third wheel them, he sourly took another bite of the cheesecake. I miss Seryu. He cried internally.

"The city still feels pretty peaceful, all things considered." Wave mumbled, drinking something from a cup.

"...Yeah." Kurome replied, looking down.

"Hey. How long are you gonna stay down in the dumps Kurome?" Wave asked, noticing her downed mood.

"I can't help it, I was useless when it really mattered." She responded.

"It's true we failed our mission. But that's why the Captain said it's not the subjugation of the invaders we have to worry about, but protecting the Capital." He reminded, glancing down at his plate.

"Here, I'll give you my slice of cake!"

She smiled. "You're right. You were blown away by the enemy attack twice, but got back on your feet, so I should be able to too!" She exclaimed, taking the cake.

"R-right." Wave mumbled, acting as if she didn't basically just stab him through the gut.

"And I'll need fuel if I'm gonna bounce back." Kurome commented, taking a bite of the cake.

He smiled as she took a bite, a happy expression sliding on her face.

He glanced over at Run and Okami, Okami was fixated on trying to eat his own cake, but Run, seemed distracted by something.

He got up, walking over to him. "Oh, a clown." Wave mumbled, seeing what Run was looking towards.

"What's up Run? You have a thing for street performances?" Wave asked.

As he circled around from Run's back to his side, however, Run was seen holding a killer glare towards the clown performing the street performance.

Wave, shocked, took a step back. Guess... not.

Run's gaze mellowed a bit as he realized that's not who he was looking for.

"Hey Run!" Wave shouted.

"...Wave."

"You had a wicked scary look on your face. Is something up?" Wave asked.

Run smiled. "No, nothing." He responded.

Wave, confused, accepted it for now, walking back to Kurome.

Run glanced at Okami, who was looking over at him from the corner of his eye.

The two stared at each other for some time, Run smiling, and Okami glaring.

"You'll tell me about it, eventually." Okami stated. "If you don't, I'll make you, the last thing any of us need is one of our members going ragtag and dying." He added.

Run's smile cracked a little. He sees right through me huh? "I can assure you nothing of the sort would happen." He responded. "However, this is personal, so I prefer not sharing it."

Okami kept his glare up, but eventually turned. "Whatever."
