Shobu smiled up at the base before him, limping closer as he held one of his arms in pain.

Okami and him had rested at the arena that night, taking as long as they could to recover, before they saw signs of approaching soldiers, and Shobu took off as best he could, Okami staying to meet them.

Honestly, he himself was surprised, Okami had gotten a lot stronger, even if he was in his crystal form, that blast Okami had released would still hurt like a bitch, maybe more than that lightning attack he took from Budo.

Son of a bitch, he went and managed to control that strange aura without even telling me. He thought.

He managed to stumble to the doorway, knocking on it once, and he heard some quick shuffling noises inside, before Najenda opened the door.

Her eyes brightened when she noticed him. "This means!?"

"Yes, we did it, Budo is no longer with us." Shobu responded. "Help me out here, even if we won, it was close as hell." He added, holding an arm out.

She complied. Positioning herself so he can lean on her shoulder as they walked back into the base.

"We have a lot to talk about. After we left, Esdeath came after us."

"Did you kill her?"

"No, at least we don't think so, Akame said she saw her escape last second." She responded.

"Escape?" He questioned.

"Like I said, we have a lot to talk about."

As the two went through the front lobby, Najenda shouted something out.

"Seryu! Shobu's back!" She shouted out.

"Coming!"

Seryu rushed down the stairs, and Najenda handed Shobu off to her, but he remembered something, and tried to dig into his pants pocket, only to fail. "Shit, Najenda, right pocket, there's a small container made of beast scales, it's for you." He stated.

She fished out the item from his pocket, before Shobu was ushered back off to his room by Seryu.

As Najenda watched them leave, her eyes travelled down to the object in her hand, in curiosity, she clicked it open.

Her eyes went wide.

In the scaled package, held one simple item.

A pair of simple red goggles.

She clutched the goggles with some force, bringing it up to her chest. Lubbock...

She dropped down to her knees, and couldn't stop the tears from breaking out, staining the floor below as they fell freely.

I'm so sorry.

...

Okami kept a calm gaze as he looked up at the Emperor and the Minister, Wave and Kurome watching on from the side as Esdeath shoved him forward.

Standing behind the General was Budo's vice General, holding a small scroll in his hand as he walked after her.

Many other officials were in the Palace halls, all for one reason.

Okami is to be put to trial, for the murder of the Great General Budo.

Honest promised an unfair trial for sure, but Okami kept calm even as he was pushed down to his knees, the heavy chains constraining his arms behind his back.

But he had a countermeasure in place already, all thanks to the Great General himself, Budo.

Minister Honest stood up first, stepping forward.
