Okami sat back in his seat, raising a hand to rake it though his hair.

"It's just as you said, Captain, they were using hypnosis to force the unit into a state of mind where it would be harmful for them to choose not to follow orders. Or as they put it, to "betray the Empire."" Zun relayed, standing at attention in front of his Captain, eyeing the woman who was sitting next to him, nonchalantly playing with some ice, that was floating.

Okami glanced over at Esdeath. "Don't mind her, but thank you for the information Zun, I'd like you all to submit a report to me later, there's no due time but I expect them soon." He told Zun. "You're dismissed."

"Yes sir." Zun addressed, before exiting the room.

Okami glanced back over at Esdeath. "To think it was worse than we thought, Kurome was lucky that she had a strong mentality, with the drugs she was taking her mind should've already been split in two." He sighed out.

He noticed how unresponsive Esdeath was, and couldn't help a small smile. "Bored?" He asked.

She slumped in her seat, creating a ring of ice above her that continued to twirl around. "Yes, the seven of you were a fun bunch, but now it's just us two, Seryu realized the side she was on was wrong, and joined the Rebel Army, Wave fell in love and wanted what was best for Kurome, which was leaving the Empire, and they did that, and the others died. Out of all the subordinates I've had, it's undeniable, I've realized that I truly started to care for you all. No, I do care." She responded honestly.

"But, my love is first and foremost for the battlefield, I have no intention of withdrawing from this fight." She added.

"I figured, that reminds me, I did it." He stated.

She immediately sat up. "You mean?"

Shobu held up a small pair of scaly ores, barely fitting into his one palm together.

"Yep, based on all the research I've done, the process is simple, the two split halves must cut each other with these ores, drawing blood onto them, and then eat them, the ores process the blood, and cause a mixture of DNA, forcing the two to become one, it only works if the two were both one from the beginning, and were split apart in the past." He explained. "And before you ask, yes, it works, I had two of my guys go out with Banoi to a settlement that was known to have been attacked by the man you spoke of, and found two people that know their each other's halves, they were fused together, but only for about an hour, I suspect we're going to need the actual blade if we want the effect to be permanent."

Esdeath nodded her head. "And that's not possible because of how quiet that man has been these last few years."

He nodded as well. "Now, I'll be contacting Shobu about it later, but for now, why don't you show me that project you were working on?" He asked.

Esdeath smirked. "Sure, right this way oh Commander in Chief." She said, leading the way.

Okami rolled his eyes. "The amount of geezers in there that need to be put down, I was seriously growing frustrated at how many of them don't know shit about war." He stated, chuckling.

"Doesn't that make things more exciting for us?" Esdeath asked with a laugh.

He also let out a small laugh at that. "I guess."

...

At a random area in a random direction the two had traveled in. Kurome and Wave stumbled upon something.

"A huntsman's cottage." Wave mumbled. "Looks like it's out for the season."

"It's pretty far away from the Capital, we should be safe here." Kurome added. "Why don't we stay here tonight? Your body's still not in the best shape Wave." She asked.
