Shobu was keeping a large distance away as Tatsumi did his part of the job, leading Ogre the demon so that the two were alone in an alleyway, simple enough, lots of problems could occur.

But he trusted Tatsumi.

Apparently Tatsumi had wanted in on this job that was supposed to be Leone's, taking the part where they would kill an officer of the Empire because of his shady dealings behind the scenes.

The short story of it included Tatsumi wanting to show Akame he could do this job, while Akame responded almost childishly stating he couldn't the way he is now.

At the end of the day he got the job though, and Shobu was assigned to watch over him just in case.

The two of them definitely did not expect to hear Akame's backstory, about how she was raised since a kid to be a weapon for the Empire, as well as her sister. But as she carried out more and more of the Empire's assassinations, she grew to understand just how dark and twisted the place was, and after meeting Najenda, who was supposed to be her next target, instead switched over, joining the revolutionary army.

She decided to join the ones who wished to make the Empire a better place, because she cares about those residing in the Empire. A simple but honourable wish.

However, Akame had lost a lot of people growing up under her conditions.

Tatsumi had jumped to the conclusion that he still had a lot to learn, based on what Leone was saying.

Shobu thinks he understood what she was saying though.

Akame truly cared about people as a whole, which means she'd most likely be sad if Tatsumi or him were to die because they jumped into something they weren't ready for yet.

Based on Leone's response to what Tatsumi had said, the brunette had guessed wrong.

Shobu snapped out of his thoughts as a cloaked Tatsumi lead the Ogre down a back alleyway, quickly doing his best to take Akame's earlier words to heart.

"The trick to concealing your presence is to relinquish feelings, the more you act as though you have no murderous intent, the less of it will spill out from you." She had said.

Drawing in a breath, Shobu did his best to draw in any negative emotions he felt for the Ogre, doing his best to immunify himself to any sort of hateful feelings towards the larger man.

"Well, is this good enough?" The Ogre asked below him, his arms crossed.

Tatsumi immediately bowed down, on his hands and knees and begged. "I beg of you! Please let me into the capital garrison!" He shouted. "I have to make money to send to the countryside." He added, fake crying.

The Ogre sighed as he scratched the back of his head. "I thought it might be about that. Just go through the regular procedure!" He shouted back, turning around.

"But." Tatsumi started, reaching behind him for his sword. "There's too much competition nowadays." He said.

Shobu resisted the urge to yell at the boy, he had just given away his intent.

"Tough luck." The Ogre said, reaching for his own sheathed blade. "That just shows you're inadequate." He informed venomously.

Tatsumi suddenly dashed at the man, sailing through the air, the Ogre turned, blade drawn, but it was too late, Tatsumi had already performed a Cross Slash on the larger man, dropping him.

Tatsumi and Shobu both let out sighs, relieved ones. "I did it." Tatsumi stated happily, as Ogre's body hit the ground.

"Carry out the mission successfully, and complete your report, then you'll finally be worthy of my praise." Akame's words rung through Tatsumi's head as he nodded to himself.
