"You don't think that Grim thing's got anything to do with Sirius Black do you?" Ron said as we made our way to hagrid's for the care of magical creatures.

"Oh, honestly, Ron. If you ask me, Divination's a woolly discipline," Hermione said.

"Tell me about it," I said.

"Now, Ancient Runes, that's a fascinating subject," Hermione said.

"Sure as hell beats Divination," I said.

"Ancient Runes? Exactly how many classes are you two taking?" Ron said.

"A fair few," Hermione said smiling at me as I gave her a wink.

"Hang on. That's not possible. Ancient Runes is at the same time as Divination. You have to be in two classes at once," Ron said.

"Come on Ron don't be an idiot how could anyone possibly be in two places at once," I said.

"Broaden your minds. Use your Inner Eye to see the future," Hermione and I mocked as we laughed.

"That's it. Come on, now. Come closer. Less talking, if you don't mind, I got a real treat for you today. A great lesson. So follow me. Right, you lot. Less chattering. Form a group over there. And open your books to page 37," Hagrid said.

"Exactly how do we do that?" Draco sneered.

"Stroke the spine," I said passing Draco and gave me a neutral nod.

"Still don't know how you made friends with him, "Hermione said.

"Believe me we are not friends just passive-aggressive classmates I mean I know Slytherin don't like Griffindor but those reasons are centuries-old time to let go," I said and Hermione smiled.

"Dadadadaa, Isn't he beautiful? Say hello to Buckbeak," Hagrid said presenting a Hippogriff.

"Hagrid, exactly what is that?" Ron said.

"That, Ron, is a hippogriff. First thing you wanna know is they're very proud creatures. Very easily offended. You do not want to insult a hippogriff. It may be the last thing you ever do. Now, who'd like to come and say hello?" Hagrid said and we took a step back apart from Harry and I.

"Well done, Harry and Y/N. Well done," Hagrid said as Harry looked behind him.

"Don't worry, I got this one," I said with a smile.

"Now... you have to let him make the first move. It's only polite. So... step up. Give him a nice bow. Then you wait and see if he bows back. If he does, you can go and touch him. If not... Well, we'll get to that later," Hagrid said as I took a few steps forward and I bowed.

Buckbeak looked at me confused for a moment before he gave a short sound and then he bowed back and I smiled.

"Well done, Y/N. Well done. Here, you big brute, you. Right. I think you can go and pat him now. Go on. Don't be shy. Nice and slow, now," Hagrid said as I slowly walked forward.

"That's it... Now let him come to That's it... Yes! Well done! Well done, Y/N, well done" Hagrid said I placed my hand out and Buckbeak gently nuzzled his nose into my hand.

"I think he may let you ride him now," Hagrid said.

"What?" I said not okay with that idea.

"Come on," Hagrid said lifting me up

"Hey, hey, hey!" I said.

"Put you over here, just behind the wing joint. Don't pull out any of his feathers, because he won't thank you for that," Hagrid said as He put me down and then Buckbeak ran and took off.

I held on tight as Buckbeak climbed higher and soared over the forest and the castle before gliding across the black lake. As Buckbeak gilded gracefully along the black lake dipping a talon in to skim the water I stretched out my arms and yelled out in joy. It was an amazing feeling my robes falling behind me as the wind whipped through my hair and blew around me. I jerked forward and grabbed hold of Buckbeack again as he got higher and returned to the area.

Once we were back on the ground and Hagrid got me off I saw Draco looking mad as he walked over I tried to stop it but was unable to do so. I looked as Hagrid carried Draco off I walked over to Hermione she gave me a look of hope and fear not sure why.

"What," I said.

"Just glad you are okay," Hermione said.

"Hey come on it will take more than a friendly hippogriff to take me out," I said.
