It was the day of Harry's trial we had all wished him well as he left the door but the outcome of the trial was the last thing on my mind and Hermione had noticed.

"What's wrong?" Hermione said.

"Hogwarts," I said.

"What about it," Hermione said.

"Come on you read that article my family is not letting me come home because it would put them in danger so I have no home and everyone else will have read that article by now I can only imagine what they are going to think of me," I said.

"No matter what they say you have us and we will stand by you no matter what," Hermione said as I hugged her.

"You think this year will be difficult," I said.

"No more difficult than what we have already gone through," Hermione said.

"Yeah between giant snacks, escaped cereal killers and dragons ain't much more they can throw at us, I mean hell I technically died last year," I said.

It was late when Harry got back from his hearing after a long talking about how it went and a large dinner we headed to bed. I don't know when but Hermione must have gotten into my bed that night as I woke up with my arms around her holding her close. I didn't feel like getting up so I just continued to lay there with her until she woke up which ended up only being a few moments later. Leaving for Hogwarts this year was not a happy event at least not for us it felt more like a trial by fire almost everyone was looking at me and Harry me with fear and Harry with anger. The train ride was painfully silent but I guess there was nothing I could do about it regardless of how much I wanted to.

"I'm surprised the Ministry's still letting you walk around free. Better enjoy it while you can.
I expect there's a couple of cells in Azkaban with your names on em," Draco said as Harry lunged at him me and Ron pulling him back.

"What'd I tell you? Complete nutter," Draco said.

"Just stay away from me!" Harry said.

"It's only Malfoy. What'd you expect?" Ron said before we headed for the carriages.

"Hi, guys," Neville said.

"Hey, Neville," I said as he joins us.

"What is it?" Harry as I now remembered he would be able to see them.

"What's what?" Hermione said.

"That. Pulling the carriage," Harry said.

"Nothing's pulling the carriage, Harry. It's pulling itself, like always," Hermione said.

"You're not going mad. I can see them too," I said.

"You're both just as sane as I am," Said the unmistakable voice of Luna.

"Everyone, this is..." Hermione said as we sat down.

"Luna Lovegood," I said cutting Hermione off.

"What an interesting necklace," Hermione said.

"It's a charm, actually," Luna said.

"Keeps away the Nargles. Hungry. I hope there's pudding," Luna said.

"What's a Nargle?" Ron whispered.

"No idea," I whispered back.

"Good evening, children. Now, we have two changes in staffing this year. We're pleased to welcome back Professor Grubbly-Plank who'll be taking Care of Magical Creatures while Professor Hagrid is on temporary leave. We also wish to welcome our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Professor Dolores Umbridge. And I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing the professor good luck. Now, as usual, our caretaker, Mr Filch, has asked me to remind you," Dumbledore began but was cut off by a sicking laugh.

"She was at my hearing. She works for Fudge," Harry said.

"This lady going to be trouble?" I said.

"Thank you, headmaster, for those kind words of welcome. And how lovely to see all your bright happy faces smiling up at me. I'm sure we're all going to be very good friends," Umbridge said.

"That's likely," Said the twins.

"The Ministry of Magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizards to be of vital importance. Although each headmaster has brought something new to this historic school progress for the sake of progress must be discouraged. Let us preserve what must be preserved perfect what can be perfected and prune practices that ought to be prohibited," Umbridge said.

"Thank you, Professor Umbridge. That really was most illuminating," Dumbledor said sounding unsure of himself.

"Illuminating? What a load of waffle," Ron said.

"What's it mean? Magic is forbidden in the corridors," Harry said.

"It means the Ministry's interfering at Hogwarts," I said as they all got the picture.

I could tell I was less than welcome in the common room so I instead went to talk to Dumbledore and hopefully get some answers.

Time skip

"Where were you yesterday you didn't come back to the common room," Hermione said.

"Didn't feel welcomed," I said.

"Why," Hermione said.

"Doesn't matter got more important things to deal with," I said.

"For example," Hermoine said.

"Dumbledore gave me some answers and some news that I am still coming to terms with," I said as we entered our classroom.

"Bring it over here. Over here," A kid said a small paper bird flew around the room.

"Oh, go on, Seamus. Go on, get it," Another said as Seamus hit it before it was suddenly set alight.

"Good morning, children. Ordinary Wizarding Level examinations. O-W-Ls. More commonly known as OWLs. Study hard and you will be rewarded. Fail to do so, and the consequences may be severe," Umbridge said as an enchanted chalk wrote on the board.

"Enter the no-fun police," I said and Hermione smiled.

"By the way," Hermione said.

"Yeah," I said.

"I am here for you," Hermione said.

"Thanks," I said.

"Now and forever," Hermione said.
