Me: "Haha. Ayan na naman tayo sa fan. Parang kay Taylor Swift lang din. Nakikinig ako ng songs nila."
EJ: "Gaano kadami?"
At nagcheck talaga ko ng mga kanta nila sa playlist ko: I Caught Fire, Smother Me, Devil Beside You, Poetic Tragedy, Maybe Memories, The Taste of Ink, Buried Myself Alive, The Lonely
Me: "8 kanta lang nasa playlist ko eh."

Saturday duty with T. Des. Dumaan ako sa Tessie's Lugawan sa Pateros bago pumasok. Bumili ako ng lugaw with egg plus tokwa at lumpiang sariwa. We ate breakfast muna at the preschool room. We talked about random things. Kwinento ko sa kanya yung scenario kahapon with Toff and Riza. I can't help it. Si Toff naman kasi, parang babae. Sabi ni Des, willing na raw siyang sa Guada na lang ulit mag stay this year. Tutal, nandito rin naman kami. Titiisin niya na lang daw yung kupal na teacher. Kaya nga lang, mag-iiba na kasi ang branch coordinator. Sino na kaya? Sabi noon, si T. Ninfa. But then, according to T. Josie just recently, baka raw si T. Miguel or T. Cristy ng VAB. Masusurprise na lang siguro kami.
Dumaan din si T. Josie pero saglit lang para mag remit ng pera kay Ms. Del.
Buong umagang maraming dumating to inquire and enroll. Buti na lang talaga nandun si Ms. Del para i-assist kami. Kami naman ni Des, busy sa pag assist sa parents at sa pagpapaexam ng mga bata. One of the kids I handled was Rodney Gray Sky Espiritu. When I asked his name, he gave me his full name and said I can just call him Sky. Cute. Pogi na may mahabang buhok na kulot. He's very fluent in speaking English. Mukhang okay ang communication skills niya. But then, when we started the exam... He said, "I don't know how to read." So I guided him by reading the instructions and other parts of the exam. His respond is good when it's oral. We stopped for a short while because I noticed that he has a short span of attention. He likes to move a lot. So I decided to have him read the alphabet and taught him the sounds. Nag rerespond naman siya. He has shown naman willingness to learn. He asked if he could play with some of the Montessori materials. Sabi ko, okay lang naman but we need to finish the exam first. He agreed. He asked, "Are you going to ask me what do I want to be when I grow up?" Kaya tinanong ko na rin siya. "Alright. So, what do you want to be when you grow up?" Then, he answered, "I want to be a soldier." When I asked his reason, he said, "I like killing people." Though, I it wasn't normal for a child to say that, I wasn't shocked. I told him, "Let me guess, you love playing video games." He said yes. So I added, "You only kill people in video games. But not in real life. Killing people is bad."
Naka half way naman kami. While I asked him to count. After ng 13.. 17 na agad. So aside from being a non-reader, he doesn't really know how to count pa. So we skipped some parts of the exam. Hindi ko na lang din muna chineck. I consulted Des. Sinabi ko rin ang situation kay Ms. Del. The card says Sky is eligible for admission into Grade 1. He's also already turning 7 comes October. So I thought of encouraging the parents to enroll Sky for Summer School for all the subjects. Hindi rin kasi nagta-Tagalog yung bata. I told the parents na baka mahirapan si Sky kasi marami ng subjects for Grade 1 and that includes Filipino. Sabi ni Des pwede naman for probationary si Sky if ever. Basta under observation na lang siya. Pumayag namang mag enroll for Summer si mommy for Sky. Mabait naman siya at madaling kausap. Nagbayad nga sila agad in full. Ms. Del asked me kung pwede bang ibaba for preschool si Sky since yun yung capacity niya. But then... I was thinking, Sky might improved pag na introduce sa kanya ang Grade 1 setting. Rev and Art were non-readers before but we have seen a big improvement on them. Sky asked me, "Did I do a great job teacher?" And I smiled, "Of course, you did! See you next week. :)"
