Earthquake

Sunday

I can hear their voices. Mom's, Xen's and Kuya Fred's. Xen sounded terrified. I was half asleep and half awake and my subsconscious mind tells me they're talking about earthquake but I didn't care. I just heard it lasted for just about 20-30 seconds.

Ugh. Sleep. I need sleep.

Maybe it was around 8 or 9 AM. I was hearing loud ati-atihan/fiesta drums from outside the streets. I heard the ZR kids went outside to watch while I didn't bother to open my eyes.

Ugh. Sleep. I need sleep.

As I check Facebook, the trending in my newsfeed is about the 5.6 magnitude earthquake happened around 3 AM. The center was Zambales. In Audrey's post, she prayed there'll be no after shock.

I went to mom's shop to do the routine. Go to the church's office. Collect their payment. Stay for a while in our shop so mom can do some errands.

When I went home, I did laundry for mom's and I's undergarments.

I learned that it's Sto. Nino fiesta today. I was wondering why our bukluran (Barangay) celebrate Sto. Nino when our patron saint is actually San Sebastian. Ate Wina said it has become a tradition in our place since time immemorial and it has never stopped until today. So we have a separate celebration/fiesta for Sto. Nino and San Sebastian.

I remember joining the crowd parading with the Sto Nino way back when I was in High School and a member of St. Anne Parish Youth Ministry or also known as SAPYM. There were Parish activities we joined and I had gain a lot of friends and ehem admirers.

With our Sto. Nino fiesta, we have this tradition 'paagaw'. People in their homes prepare candies, snacks/chichirya and coins to be thrown in the streets for the people joining the parade. Nakakamiss sumama at makiagaw. :D

Ate Wina texted me earlier in the morning that she's planning to buy our own 'paagaw' but was told that the parade was already approaching so she changed her mind and hurriedly went to our house.

We stayed at the garage to wait.

I saw this Art In Island 100 Likes Contest in Facebook. Once you gain 100 likes, you'll receive 50% discount. Amazing right? So, I urged EJ we try it. Siya pa ba? Eh andami niyang likers.

Ang tagal ng parade so I decided to go back to my room. I almost fell asleep. Maybe I did. This part was more lively kasi andun yung tinatawag nilang 'original' na Sto. Nino. And the drums.... Dugdug. Dugdug talaga.

Here's a little secret. Hindi ako naligo ngayong araw. Well, I did.

Nagsimba kami ni mama and Xen in St. Anne for the 7 PM mass. ^-^

Bubb also told me about her reading my new entries. Kinilig din daw siya sa story about the flowers sent by EJ.

Bwahahaha!!! Peace Bubb!!! :)
