Driving to my next show I pulled into a rest stop. One of the ones with no facilities. Just a place to stop. I was listening to Half Broke Horses, only sort of paying attention and it struck me. With all the blood and concussions and being broke and trying to get in touch with Bloody Mary I never stopped to think about what had happened.
Eterno knows about me. He knows that I was coming to confront him. And what? He summoned a demon or a spirit? Those things exist? He's a monster instead of a person? He cast a spell to control Mary like a puppet and added some scary effects to it? He or a thing he summoned was watching me through a motel mirror and told me to stay away or die.
There's a lot to unpack there as the white ladies on murder podcasts say.
I once saw four dudes stop a car, drag the kid driving it out and kick the shit out of him, one of them beating on him with a piece of rebar. After like a minute the kid squirms loose and runs a few blocks and then falls down and dies. He was so cranked up he didn't feel the fatal beating they gave him until he got away and the adrenaline wore off.
That must be what happened to me. They call that not seeing the forest for the trees I think. Some fucking serious insane shit went down and I didn't register it until a week later driving to another gig like normal.
One podcast I listened to said that the worst thing you can do is make decisions without getting all the information you need. Another podcast said that the worst thing you can do is not make a decision, that doing anything is better than doing nothing.
Thanks for the help podcasts.
Based on the Insidious Paranormal Midsommar shit that went down Eterno must have killed Obaluaiye. He must also be considerably more powerful than me. So what? I'm out for revenge? I kill people now? That's why I'm learning magic?
I have three weeks before the show in Silver City to do what? Catch up to him in magical knowledge? And then do what? I feel like Silver City is my only chance to do anything because I don't want to go to Mexico and he rarely comes to the states.
Google says the way you defeat a more powerful opponent is by unconventional tactics. Since he's magically superior I hide and jump out and stab him in the neck non-magical style? Just murder a person and hope I get away with it? Assuming that he is a person and not something else like what I saw in the ring that night.
Probably shouldn't be posting a blog about it if that's the plan.
