"Yeah?", Natasha answered Steve's call, and all that Eleanor could do was listen to Nat's replies as it wasn't the best idea to put the phone on speaker in such a public place. "Uh, yeah thanks. I got lucky", Nat looked over at Eleanor who was looking at her expectedly, clearly still slightly on edge from everything that had gone on, "We both did".

There was a moment of silence where Nat looked around and stood, clearly searching for something. Or someone. Eleanor frowned at her wife's actions, confused at the sudden change in demeanour when it had sounded like a friend checking up on another friend at first. "I know how much Barnes means to you, I really do. Stay home, you'll only make this worse. For all of us. Please". Eleanor's face dropped as she stood, and she made her way around Natasha to see her face, placing a hand on her arm in reassurance.

She wasn't sure exactly what was going on, but from the minimal information from Nat's replies, it seemed that Steve was going to go all Captain America on someone's ass, which he technically wasn't allowed to do anymore. Nat briefly looked up to meet Eleanor's gaze and pursed her lips before looking back to the floor again and shaking her head whilst her eyebrows knitted together, "No. Someone will. If you interfere that's how it works now".

"Why?", she continued, clearly not getting anywhere with her pleads. "Shit".

"What's going on?", Eleanor queried when she had pocketed the phone, searching Nat's eyes for any emotions that would give an inclination of what was happening. "Steve is breaking the accords on day one of implementation", Nat sighed and ran a hand through her hair, "He's here and trying to get to Barnes before the authorities do". The younger woman rolled her eyes and looked around, making sure that no one was eavesdropping. "I don't want to arrest him", she looked into her wife's eyes, desperation clearly present.

"The task force will", Nat tried to say with certainty, but Eleanor could see the doubt running through her head. With the tensions rising, the hustle and bustle with the sheer number of people moving around the area was getting to be too much. Eleanor felt like she could hear every little sound blended into one with the volume at 100%, making her skin feel uncomfortably tight on her own body as she tried to figure out a plan of action without getting arrested themselves.

Sensing that Eleanor was struggling, Nat took hold of her hand and started guiding them both back to the jet. They had a change of clothes on there so they would both be able to get comfortable, and it was away from the overwhelming noise of people panicking and barking orders. "You okay?", Nat checked in with a hug when the door to the jet closed behind them after they rushed in.

"Yeah, this all just sucks so, so, so much", she mumbled into Nat's shoulder before pulling away and pecking her lips, "Are you okay?". Natasha hummed in response as she nodded and gave her one final squeeze before they got into the spare clothes, discarding the formal wear that they so desperately wanted to get out of.

"So... what now?", Eleanor tilted her head and sat down on one of the side benches, Natasha promptly following suit and placing a hand on Eleanor's thigh. "We wait for instructions, that's all we can do now", she sighed, gazing at Eleanor for some comfort.

"I hate these accords, didn't even get to have my coffee", the younger woman chuckled dryly, placing her head on Nat's shoulder whose heart promptly melted at the action, even after all their years together. Natasha shuffled slightly so that she could wrap an arm around Eleanor and pull her closer, letting out a big exhale when she got comfortable. "I hate them too, none of this feels right but it feels like our hands are tied". There was a brief moment of solemn silence before Natasha spoke up again, "I promise to get you a coffee soon".

Eleanor laughed and looked up to meet Nat's gaze, "It is the least of my worries right now, but thank you, much appreciated", she grinned, which plastered a smile on Nat's face in return.
