Weapon X

The team all stare at a vat which much like MODOK's lab was not dissimilar to the vats inside the oil rig. The vat contained blue liquid unlike Osborn's green which had a man floating inside of it. Y/n goes to take a closer look.

Y/n: Jesus...

The man had very few articles of clothing, the only thing he wore in fact was a pair of underpants with electrical components. Wires ran down his arm and were plugged into his flesh. Atop his head was a metal dome which covered the top half of his face. There was a red visor not unlike Cyclops' which he could assumedly see out of.

Susan Storm: What's that?

Y/n looks over and finds a small audio recorder, he picks it up and presses play.

MODOK: This audio recording is a fact file pertaining to my latest experiment: Weapon X. Weapon X is a mutant with healing factor beyond anything I have ever seen, I suspect it even predates the 20th century. It also possesses two sets of claws that erupt from between his it's knuckles.

They can hear the audio recording of MODOK shuffling papers before continuing.

MODOK: I have injected the subject's skeletal structure with adamantium which not only reinforced its bones but also it's claws. In a perfect world I would have had access to vibranium however my AIM sentries were barely able to obtain the adamantium I have access to now. I plan to use the leftover metal for a new batch of sentries.

Gwenpool: That explains why my bullets weren't doing anything.

MODOK: I have it in a chemically induced coma which it will wake from when it exits the  vat, I have done this to put an end to its aggressive tendencies. If only I had the abilities of Emma Frost. Until I come to a solution for psychiatric conditioning: it will remain comatose.

The recording ends and the group stands there in silence. Reed walks over to the vat and begins pressing buttons.

The Thing: Reed? What are ya doin'?

Reed Richards: Getting him out of there.

Johnny Storm: Hey, we don't even know what's gonna happen when he wakes up.

Reed Richards: He'll probably try to attack us. He's only a guy with claws, you've been through worse.

Gwenpool: Yeah, except he can't frickin' die.

Y/n: Lucky we're not trying to kill him then.

Susan and Reed share a glance before Mr. Fantastic opens the vat. The mutant falls out of it and splashes to the ground- covered in liquid. The visor lights up as the mutant scrambles to his feet. Weapon X grunts and heaves as he looks from person to person. His gaze settles on Ben.

The Thing: What's he lookin' at me for?

Weapon X: GRAAAAH!

Sis metal blades slide out of his hands and he rushes Ben. He leaps high into the air but is grabbed in his ascent by Ben's stony hand. The Thing uses his spare hand to punch Weapon X straight in his mouth. His bottom jaw dislocates and hangs at an angle. The group look on in horror as the injury fixes itself in a matter of seconds like a time lapse.

Y/n: What the-

Weapon X: -GRAAAAAHH!

The mutants flails it's limbs in a desperate attempt to stab something to no avail. Susan decided to end it by sending a force field at top speed towards his head. It breaks his neck and makes his head shoot back and droop beneath his shoulders. They watch again as the neck fixes itself (making Reed gag) however Weapon X remains unconscious.

Gwenpool: What do we do with the body?

Y/n: He's not dead, dipshit.

Susan Storm: We take him to the X-Mansion. Professor Xavier and the others should be back by now.

Cut to the group arriving at the X-Mansion in their jet. Susan levitates the unconscious Weapon X on a force field platform as the others walk behind her. The door opens to reveal Colossus.

Colossus: Greetings, Fantastic Four. Take mutant inside, Phoenix will take an analysis.

Gwen and Y/n stop at the door to speak to Colossus.

Colossus: And how are the ex-students?

Gwenpool: If I could pick one person never to see again it would probably be you.

Colossus: As insolent as ever. How about yourself, Y/n?

Y/n: Hanging in there.

Gwenpool: Yeah, he should be fine as long as the next arc isn't a major storyline that has a massive threat in it.

Gwen turns to look at the readers and presses a finger to her lips.

Gwenpool: Shh...

Colossus: Right... well, come inside! I'm sure reunions are in order.

Little red flags pop up in Y/n's head as a certain phasing female came to mind. Gwen picks up on this and takes his hand in a comforting gesture. She accompanies this with a kiss on his cheek.

Colossus: Oh, please do not tell me you are together.

Gwenpool: We are! He's so lucky...

Colossus: I will pray for you tonight, Y/n.

From round the corner come three mutants. Scott Summers, Charles Xavier and a third man Y/n did not recognise. Though he wasn't quite sure they qualified under the term 'man'.

Cyclops: Y/n! How you been, buddy?

Scott jogs over and gives Y/n a friendly slap on the back. The other two then join them.

Charles Xavier: Y/n, Gwen. It's a pleasure to see you again. I don't believe you've met my friend. Y/n L/n, Gwendolyn Poole: meet Hank McCoy.

The blue beast shakes both of their hands and smiles awkwardly at them. He had the figure of an average muscular man except for the obvious: he was covered head to toe in blue fur. He also had yellow eyes and saw no reason to wear socks or shoes which allowed others to see that much like an ape he had a second set of hands instead of feet.

Hank McCoy: Alright, let's address the elephant in the room.

Y/n and Gwen assumed he meant the fact that he was a big blue hairy fella wearing glasses and a three piece suit.

Hank McCoy: You two are the first humans to ever study in a mutant school. Do you have any idea how many of the students here look up to you?

Y/n: Look up to us?

Charles Xavier: Yes. You broke a segregation boundary that was erected all the way back in the 1920s. One hundred years ago.

Gwenpool: Wow, why did the segregation come into place.

Cyclops: After the First World War: human soldiers were in outrage as they felt their mutant comrades had an unfair advantage.

Colossus: In most countries there was a five to one ratio of mutant to human soldiers that received medals of honour.

Hank McCoy: That lead to mutants being educated separately from humans and having an overall ban on mutants enlisting in any armed forces regiment.

Gwenpool: That's awful.

Charles Xavier: Some countries in Africa and South America like Brazil, Ghana and Wakanda have accepted their mutant communities, however the ball had been rolling incredibly slowly in the rest of the world.

Bells ring out across the mansion and students begin to leave their classes.

Charles Xavier: I'm afraid we'll have to cut this conversation short. Feel free to stay until the end of the day.

Hank McCoy: It was nice meeting you both.

The four mutants leave Gwen and Y/n but are quickly replaced when another four turn the corner to the hall they were in. Rogue, Nightcrawler, Jubilee and...

Kitty Pryde: Y/n!

Y/n and Gwen wince as the group rushes over...
