Y/n, Gwen and the unconscious America Chavez (still clad in her astronaut uniform) land on the ground of their third alternate earth.Gwenpool: Hello, 2023!
Y/n: Oh, thank God. Normal bodies.
They were indeed no longer cartoons. It was not immediately obvious: but the universe seemed to be theirs, they could see Avengers Tower in the distance and New York City as a whole seemed normal enough.
Gwenpool: Finally, I missed my third dimension.
They stand but quickly stumble as the ground beneath them shifts as if balancing on a tightrope. They look to their feet and observe the roof of a boat, surrounded by a large body of water.
Gwenpool: Are we on a ferry?
They were, one bound for Liberty Island. Assumedly for tourist purposes: the orange cruiser had two decks of seats and an third layer underneath for certain cars. This third bay is where the duo decided to secure the sleeping America until the ship came to a stop. They could not of course be seen with a body. They make their way to the seats after dropping America off and sit down.
Gwenpool: This is nice.
Y/n: Makes a change from Adaptoid invasion.
Gwen smiles and takes his hand, resting her head in his shoulder. Y/n takes some time to smell the sea air and appreciate the beautiful woman at his side. She was drawing a few weird looks. Granted, New York these days was no stranger to superheroes. Though seeing one was still somewhat uncommon. But of course, all good things must come to an end.
Gwenpool: Can you smell burning?
Before Y/n can even ponder the query: a purple laser rips through the hill of the boat- splitting it clean in half, vertically. Y/n and Gwen leap out of their seats and identify a familiar figure swinging around the boat. It was the voice and supersuit of this figure which marked that this was indeed not their universe.
Spider-Man: Oh, my god. What do I do? Karen, uh, give me an X-ray of the boat and target all the strongest points.
Y/n and Gwen watch as he shoots webs and leaps between the two sides of the ship. Spider-Man stumbles back and forth on the upper part of the ferry, connecting the ship with strands of web. He dodges flames as he travels down the length of the ferry. He fires several strands of web and once, and binds them together with another strand. Reaching the bow, he crouches on the edge of the roof. He eyes the two leaning halves of the ferry that are crisscrossed with spiderweb.
Y/n: Other universe Spider-Man?
Gwenpool: Other universe Spider-Man.
The boat passengers begin to cheer and applaud the Spider-Man of this universe.
Man: Yeah, Spider-Man!
Y/n: We should check on America.
Gwenpool: Yeah, I agree.
The web strands begin to snap, lurching the passengers closer towards the gap of the boat.
Spider-Man: No, no, no, no!
Water floods the cargo hold, pushing the cars forward. People cling to posts as the stream rushes past them. On the upper level, passengers slide down the floor of the leaning ferry- Y/n and Gwen rushing to help them. The gap widens as the web strands continue to snap. Spider-Man leaps into the air.
