Y/n and Gwen stand awkwardly outside of a dorm room in the X-Mansion. Rogue sticks her head out of it and smiles at them just as awkward.

Y/n: How's she doing?

Rogue: Well, obviously she's upset. But I don't think she holds it against you, the rest of us certainly don't.

Y/n: Thanks, Rogue.

Gwenpool: Yeah, it would be pretty bitchy of you guys to do that.

Rogue: Don't think you're off the hook, Gwen. Just because you haven't done anything wrong doesn't mean she'll feel like treating you nicely.

Rogue gives a final uncomfortable smile before disappearing back into Kitty's room. Gwen and Y/n stand in silence for a while.

Y/n: I mean we had to tell her at some point, right?

Gwenpool: Yeah, yeah... totally.

Kurt appears next to them in a puff of blue and black smoke.

Kurt: They do not need me in there right now. No place for a man.

Y/n and Gwen raise an eyebrow at Nightcrawler's remark.

Kurt: Sorry, I meant to say that I won't be of much use, Kitty needs to be around other girls right now. I mean the only thing I know about her love life is that she had a crush on Iceman as a kid.

Y/n: Who's Iceman?

Kurt: He was one of the old school X-Men from the 90's when the team was first formed. In those days it was just Professor Xavier, Iceman, Scarlet Witch and Sunspot.

Y/n didn't know who Sunspot was either but decided not to add more questions to the pile.

Gwenpool: Scarlet Witch was in the X-Men?

Kurt: Yes, but she left when The Avengers formed fifteen years later. Anyway, Kitty later got over Iceman when she found out he was both dead and gay.

Y/n: How did he die?

Kurt: Being a gay mutant superhero made him an icon to many as well as a figurehead for the LGBTQ+ community. Unfortunately it made him a target for many intolerant groups, he was assassinated on a plane to a mutant rights rally. His pilot was a member of one of these groups and gave his life to prevent the progression of Iceman's cause.

Gwenpool: What kind of sick person would do that?

Kurt: It bothers the minds of mutants everywhere, Gwen. He received a posthumous statue in his honour which can be found in New York's superhero museum alongside a display of his life.

The trio is joined by another mutant who mocks Nightcrawler.

Storm: Is Kurt quoting the museum information again? He knows it word for word.

Y/n: Hey, Storm.

Storm: Hi. Is everything okay with Kitty?

Kurt: She's just had some bad news.

Storm: What happened?

Kurt: Y/n and Gwen are now a couple which upset her because she was also into in Y/n.

Gwenpool: Dude!

Y/n: Are you gonna tell everybody? Or just everyone you know?

Storm: Oh... wow. Congratulations? I mean don't get me wrong I'm happy for you. It's just a complicated one, you know?

Gwenpool: Sure.

The four stand in silence for a while in the hall Gwen and Y/n would occasionally become intensely uncomfortable as they heard Kitty sniffle through the wall. A mutant appears to save Y/n and Gwen from suffering any further.
