Reporter: Good morning, New York. This is Mary Jane Watson. Less than a day after his arrest: Y/n L/n has broken out of jail and is now a fugitive. Shortly before his escape: camera footage of his cell was cut off, leading many to speculate that his freedom is a result of an inside job. His cellmate -Harvey Elder- remains incarcerated.

The broadcast is switched off, it was being viewed by Vision and Captain America, alone in the Avengers Tower briefing room. Steve steps towards his android ally and presses him with questions.

Captain America: Did you have something to do with this?

Vision: I was advised to follow my metaphorical heart. I was not content leaving my friend incarcerated.

Captain America: So you went against my direct orders and got involved?

Vision: Yes. And I do not apologise.

Captain America: Good, I was waiting for someone to do that. Okay, Y/n's a fugitive. What now?

Vision: He is currently at Charles Xavier's school for gifted youngsters. Though he will not be able to maintain his cover for long.

Captain America: Hmm... oh! What about his space friends?

Vision: I will send them a communication.

Captain America: We've spread ourselves too thin. You, me, Wasp and the Spider-Men are the only heroes in the city right now.

Vision: Yes, it is unfortunate. Do you think they know of Y/n's predicament?

GERMANY

A puff of blue smoke appears in an otherwise empty German field; leaving Nightcrawler and Mystique in its wake. The only scenery to speak of were stone houses- almost medieval in design.

Mystique: Your childhood home...

Kurt: I cannot believe you stabbed my friend!

Mystique: You should be grateful! I came to that school to liberate you!

Kurt: Oh, mother of the year award!

He steps backwards, distancing himself from his mother. In his hand is the dagger that she used to (attempt to) take the life of Jubilee.

Mystique: You gonna use that on me?

Kurt: Don't be ridiculous!

He throws the weapon limply onto the ground, the blood staining the healthy green of the grass.

Kurt: You can hurt yourself far better than I can.

He disappears, leaving his mother in the foreign village. Back at the X-Mansion: Y/n hides himself behind a chunk of rubble as he observes the fight breaking out in front of him. Rogue lies unconscious on the floor with Jean Grey nowhere to be seen- assumedly leading the children to safety.

Juggernaut: GAAHH!

To relieve Juggernaut of Xavier's mind control: Magneto is using his gift to slowly tighten Juggernaut's dome helmet. It is an extremely painful process for Big J, though that's kind of the point. If Magneto can cause enough pain: Juggernaut will pass out and Charles' powers on him will wane.

Kitty Pryde: What are you doing?

Y/n flinches, almost exposing himself to the evil mutant on the other side of the rubble.

Y/n: What are you doing here?

Kitty Pryde: Ms. Grey and I were taking the kids away but she told me to come back here and help.

Y/n: Uh huh, and how's that going?

Juggernaut falls onto his back, the force pushing Charles' wheelchair backwards. The Professor quickly finds himself airborne as Magneto lifts him into the air with his powers.
