Chapter 27: An Unknown Threat

My teammates and I leaped from branch to branch with great haste as Akira and Kaito caught up with me. Natsumi was running below us as she sniffed out the scent in the air with narrow eyes.

Upon the realization of a chakra full of bloodlust heading for Naruto and the rest of Team Seven. I could feel panic running through my veins as I headed straight toward Team Seven.

Kaito demanded that I slow down a bit before I wore myself out. However, it was apparent he was just as worried about Naruto, his rival, for the title of Hokage one day. I could tell by the expression in his eyes as I looked back at him briefly.

As we rushed towards the blonde knucklehead team. No words were exchanged during our journey. We only heard the sound of running steps as we landed on the ground next to Natsumi.

A few minutes later, we noticed Natsumi running of Natsumi was slowing down with each second. For a minute, we thought we had reached Naruto's team, but I didn't feel their chakra anywhere in the area. My eyes are narrow as the fox with northwest and place a paw or a particular track in the dirt.

"How we don't have time for this," I said, annoyed as Natsumi started walking in the opposite direction.

"You go ahead without us for now; I hear a large snake up ahead this way heading towards someone," Natsumi said.

"Huh?" I questioned, trying to focus on the chakra to see who was up ahead that way.

"Kei, go on; we help them," Akira said.

"Yeah, Akira and I will deal with the snake," Kaito said.

"Be careful. We still have an exam to complete," I said, looking at my teammates before taking off in the direction I felt Team Seven chakra coming from earlier.

"This chakra is so intense," I said as rush through the trees towards the direction of Team Seven and the culprit of the chakra."I see them!"

I speed up dramatically, rushing towards the clearing up ahead. As soon as I got closer to them, I stopped in a tree. I then noticed a large cloud of smoke.

'That charka is coming from that smoke.' I thought as the smoke cleared on up and appeared the grass ninja from earlier who saved my life from that Tiger.

"Tell me if your teammate is really that dimwitted," She commented."Why would you come up with a password he never be able to remember?" She asked.

"You see, it wasn't meant for Naruto. I was more made for anyone who was eavesdropping. It was meant as a trap, and you stumble, right into it," Sasuke commented with a smirk.

'I see, so Naruto is not with them it was a transformation, justu.' I thought as I noticed that Naruto was missing and that the speck of blonde I saw up ahead wasn't the real him.

The grass ninja then moved her hat off of her head and near her face as she smiled slightly."I'm impressed you certainly haven't dropped your guard. This promises to be very entertaining."

'What is up with this lady? She creepier than when we last met, especially the way she is licking her lips.' I thought as I saw the woman creepy lick her lips.

I then saw the woman pull out a scroll making Sakura gasp slightly as she saw that it was an Earth scroll.

"Ah, you love to get your hands on our Earth scroll, wouldn't you?" She asked. "It would go nicely with your Heaven Scroll," She said, sticking out her tongue before putting the scroll in her mouth.

'Geez, she is strange, but there is something about her that familiar to me.'  I thought as I leaned a bit closer to get a better study of the ninja movements before I tried jumping in to help.

"Well, when this is all over, one of us will have both scrolls," The lady said, bringing a finger up towards her eye."And the other will be dead."

I narrow my eyes as a surge of bloodlust coming from her charka as. Sakura lets out a loud scream while Sasuke suddenly throws up.

'That bloodlust is intense. There is something definitely wrong here. Her bloodlust and chakra don't feel normal for a Genin.' I thought, keep my eyes on the grass ninja from my spot up in the tree.

"Sakura?" Sasuke asked, looking over at Sakura, who was shaking in fear.

"Okay, I need to do something to help, but now I don't know her skills," I whispered as I heard the woman laughing.

"You're paralyzed with fear," She said, smiling.

I looked at Sasuke to see he was struggling to move for a few minutes until he slowly started to get up with a kunai.

"Very good now. What happens?" She asked, still smiling.

'I have to act before it is too late.' I thought, seeing the fear in Sasuke's eyes as he couldn't move.

"Don't worry, I'll make it quick," She said, pulling out two kunai as she started to walk towards Sasuke."But I don't have to tell you that do I? You saw it with your own eyes," She continued as she walked even closer to Sakura and Sauske.

My eyes widened as I saw he getting ready to throw the kunai at them as. I quickly jumped down from the tree.

"Get away from them now!" I commanded, landing in front of Sasuke, deflecting the incoming kunai with my sword.

"Kei?" Sasuke questioned.

"Sasuke, go take Sakura!" I called back, keeping my eyes trained on the ninja in front of me as, Sasuke.

"So you finally decided to make an appearance, young Misaki," She said, smiling."I have been wondering when you come out from hiding," She said, licking her lips.

"Kei, what are you doing here?" Sauske questioned with a hint of distrust in his voice.

"Just leave now!" I commanded, holding my sword in front of the lady to stop her from going after Sasuke, who finally snapped himself out of fear by stabbing his knee and taking off.

"So you want to interfere with my fun," She said."Alright then, I guess I have to get you out of the way first. This could be quite fun young one," She smiled, looking into my eyes.

"I won't let you hurt my friends. Protecting people precious to me is something my mother always told me to do!" I sated getting into a fighting with my sword held high.
