Chapter 53: The Inner Strength of a Half Shark

Kaito and Issa both rushed forwards toward each other as the kunai and sword collided with each other.

"I admit your speed is not bad," Issa commented."Through that, still not enough to beat me," He smirked, backing up and making hand signs.

"Flower Style: Needle Barrage," Issa muttered quietly as he completed the hand signs, and a barrage of green thorn sharp needles was sent flying toward Kaito.

"Flower style," Akira said in surprise as she watched the sharp thorns flying toward Kaito.

"That won't stop me, flower boy!" Kaito shouted, making hand signs and creating a dense wall of water to shield him from the barrage of thorns coming his way.

"His water justu has gotten stronger," Kei commented.

"Yes, it has, and he is also able to make signs with his sword in his hand still definitely; he has improved over the month," Akira said.

Kei nodded as she focused on the match between Kaito and Issa.

"Let's see if you can counter this," Issa said, making hand signs; suddenly, a crack in the ground formed as a group of vines appeared from under Kaito, grabbing him by the legs and wrapping around him.

"Huh, looks like Kaito, not as awesome as he thinks!" Naruto exclaimed from his spot next to Shikamaru.

Kei narrowed her watching as Kaito started to move his hand with the sword as the vines began to wrap around his upper body.

"He is planning something," Kei said, glancing at Akira.

"Your right, but what?" Akira asked curiously.

Kaito's sword was suddenly surrounded by dense water as he slashed the vines off him.

"Amazing, he fused his charka into the sword and used the density of the water to break free from the vines," A Jounin said from up in the crowd.

"You need more than that to stop me, flower boy!" Kaito shouted, charging towards Issa with his sword.

"I'm not done yet!" Issa called back as he charged forward with kunai blocking the sword."Im going to win this match and show everyone that im stronger than my brother for once!"

"I'm afraid you're going to be losing this match," Kaito said with a smirk as he increased his strength on the sword knocking away Issa kunai and sending him flying back.

"Ugh," Issa groaned as he started getting on from the ground.

Kaito then placed his sword against his side as he made another set of hand signs. He then took a deep breath as he shot a barrage of liquid bullets at Issa, knocking him back down before he could get on back up.

"Ugh, im not done yet," Issa groaned, trying to get on up, but instead, ending up passing out on the ground from the pain as he let out a painful scream.

Genma walked over to Issa and saw that he could not continue."This one had it. Kaito Hoshigaki wins!" Genma announced.

The whole crowd started cheering loudly as the match came to an end.

"Amazing that boy on the path of becoming a shinboi greater than his father."

"That was awesome. Kaito did it," Akira said, smiling as medics carried Issa off to get treated.

Kaito sheath his sword and started heading back up the stairs to join Akira and Kei so the next match could begin.

"Great job Kaito," Akira said as Kaito arrived up the steps and stood next to her and Kei.

"Come on, we what the next match!" Someone in the crowd shouted.

"That odd Sasuke still not here. It's time for his match," Kei commented, not seeing Sasuke anywhere in the waiting area.

"Your right. With his ego, I figured he would be the first one here," Kaito stated.

The crowd started yelling in frustration as the next match wasn't starting. Everyone was eager to see the last Uchiha fight.

"This isn't good everyone is getting upset," Akira said.

"It can't help Sasuke is not here yet," Kei said."They might as well move on before it gets out of control."

"True," Akira and Kaito agreed.

Kei's attention was drawn toward Gaara, a couple of feet away from Kaito, and she noticed his hardened expression.

'What is he thinking about? He didn't do anything to Sasuke, did he?' She thought, looking at Gaara, who caught her stare and glanced at her.

"What is it, Kei?" Kaito asked.

"Nothing, just thinking," Kei said, turning her attention back to the arena to see another guy talking to Genma. It was one she didn't recognize. She only knew most of the shinboi Anko was friends with.

"Listen, everyone," Genma started."One of the competitors from the next match has not arrived yet, so we will postpone this match briefly and simply jump ahead to the match that would've followed this one," He explained.

"Well, it looks like Sasuke still has a chance to show up for his match," Akira commented.

"Yeah."

"So Shino and Kankuro, come down!" Genma called out.

Shino was about to head on down for his match when Kankuro announced be withdrawal.

"He withdraws?" Kei questioned.

"That's what it sounds like he said," Kaito said."Through something never felt right about those three."

"I know. Not sure if you noticed ot, but definitely feeling something up by their chakra," Akira commented.

'There, charka does feel like there hiding something.' Kei thought with her eyes narrowed at Kankuro.

The crowd then started to shout and boo at Kankuro's withdrawal.

"Due to Kankuro's withdrawal, Shino Aburmae wins by defeat," Genma announced.

"What? We came here for an actual match."

A strong gust of wind was blown as Temari got on her fan and started to ride it down to the field.

"And you are?" Genma asked.

"It's my turn, right?" She asked.

"Well, you're sure an eager one, aren't you?" He asked."Fine, let's start the next match then."

Genma then looked up at Shikamaru."Hey, you up there?  Come down!"

"Shikamaru, move it, lazy bones," Kei said, looking at the complaining Shikamaru.

"You heard her get going!" Naruto shouted, pushing Shikamaru over the railing, causing him to land on his back.

I ended keeping Shino and Shikamaru's matches in the same order as initially, but Akira and Kei's matches will be coming up soon. This story is also coming to an end, at least until the sequel in the future, but for now, that has been planned out yet.
