Chapter 68: Protecting a Comrade

"Ah, don't give me that. One wink from a pretty girl, and you turned into a mountain of mush! You fell for it like a ton of bricks, Pervy Sage!" Naruto shouted at Jiraiya.

"I wish you wouldn't call me that in front of other people," Jiraiya replied.

"Are you kidding me?! We have worse things to worry about than what these guys think of you! Get with it, Pervy Sage!" Naruto shouted again.

I narrowed my eyes as I undid the jade-green crystal on my arms and glanced at Sasuke on the floor in pain.

"Didn't I just ask you not to call me that?!" Jiraiya shouted in annoyance.

"Whatever name you go by, Master Jiraiya, I must say you're something of a disappointment. An old man with a disposition of a child, it is almost impossible to believe that you are one of the Legendary Sannin," The shark man said, laughing.

"What?! You-- You already know who he is?!" Naruto exclaimed in surprise.

"Uh, don't be fooled by appearances or anything this little squirt might say," Jairiya said.

"So you managed to release the Genjustu we cast on her, ay?" The shark man said, seemingly impressed.

I turned my head slightly and noticed that the woman from earlier was on Jiraiya's shoulder.

"What kind of coward would do something like that? Inflicting an illusion on an innocent woman, all to separate Naruto from me," Jiraiya said as he set down the woman against the wall.

'To separate Naruto from him?' I thought, looking over at Naruto.

"I know that he's the one you're after," Jiraiya announced, making Naruto's eyes widen and mine narrow in thought, recalling their words from a moment ago about the Nine-Tailed Fox.

"That explains how Kakashi knew. Now I understand. He learned it from you," Itachi said.

'Kakashi? That Naruto sensei for Team 7. So then this Itachi fellow was in the village before coming here.' I thought, focusing on the tall Uchiha in front of me.

"You're right; Naruto is the prize the Akatsuki are after. And we will have him," Itschi announced.

'Akatsuki?' I thought, trying to recall if I had heard that name before.

The toad then disappeared at Jiraiya's command.

"No way you're getting Naruto!" Jiraiya announced.

"We'll see about that," Itachi replied.

"Actually, this is all very convenient. I can eliminate you both at the same time," Jiraiya said.

"Stay out of this!" Sasuke said in a painful voice.

I watched as he struggled to get up but forced his body to stand with his injured wrist."The only one...who is going to eliminate him is me!" Sasuke shouted.

"Go away; you don't interest me at the moment," Itachi said.

Sasuke glared heavily at Itachi."Well, get interested!" Sasuke shouted and ran towards Itachi, making his right hand into a fist.

Itachi lifts his left leg quickly and kicks Sasuke hard. Sasuke floes back in the air and gets slammed against the wall at the end of the hall.

"Sasuke!" Naruto shouted.

"Why you!" Naruto growled and started running forward.

"No, Naruto! Don't butt in; mind your own business!" Sasuke exclaimed.

I grabbed Naruto's collar holding him back and keeping him from moving. Naruto gritted his teeth.

"I told you before. I lived my whole life for this day, this moment. This fight is mine!" Sasuke shouted, getting back up.

He activated his Sharingan again, both having two tomoe.

Sasuke quickly started running towards Itachi again, letting out a battle cry. Itachi catches his punch and use his right elbow to elbow Sasuke in the face. Then he easily throws Sauske back, making Sasuke hit the wall a second time.

I narrowed my eyes and chewed my lip.

"Sasuke..." Naruto said, fearful.

"This fight is mine," Sasuke repeated.

"So be it," Itachi replied.

Jiraiya was going to make a move, but the Shark Man him back, using his sword as a way to block him. This fight was now between the Uchiha brothers. Itachi began walking up to Sasuke. Sasuke quickly got back up, ready to fight. Itachi kneed Sasuke in the gut, making him spit out blood, which drool from his mouth.

My eyes widened as I watched Itachi strike again and again. Itachi pins Sasuke to the wall.

"You're still too weak. You don't have enough hate. And you know something, you never will." Itachi said.

I clenched my fist and narrowed my eyes.

'I can't just stand and watch. Sasuke might not be a close friend or teammate, but if I don't do anything, he get badly beaten up.' I thought.

I snapped out of my thoughts, sunk down into the ground and reappeared behind the Shark man, and quickly ran towards Itachi and Sasuke. I did the hand signs and made a crystal blade out of my arm.

"Kei, stop!" Sasuke yelled.

Itachi quickly turned his head and, with his free hand, grabbed my arm with the crystal blade. I narrowed my eyes as he pulled it towards me, but before he could do anything, I rotated my body like a snake causing him to lose his grip. I then formed the crystal blade in my other arm, but before I could strike him, he kicked me in the chest, sending me to the ground harshly.

I coughed and rolled on my back and held my chest tightly as I lay there, coughing up some blood.

"Seems you learned his fighting style," Itachi said, looking down at me.

My eyes widened as I slowly attempted to get up

"What?" I questioned.

Itachi just stared at me, not saying anything.

"So you know my father?" I asked.

"It wasn't hard to see his face in your face the day you joined Sasuke's class," Itachi replied."The only difference is you have a faint hint of purple in your raven hair."

I squeeze my eyes, unable to bear that everyone lied to me, seeing how much I resemble my father. Is he really that bad that everyone thought the worse if they told me who he was?

Itachi then focused on Sasuke as I lay there looking at the ceiling, not knowing how to deal with so many people keeping the truth from me.

"You're still too weak," Itachi stated.

Itachi then used Tsukuyomi on Sasuke. Sasuke instantly started screaming bloody murder from what he saw in Itachi's ultimate Genjutsu.

My eyes widened in shock at him doing this to his own little brother. Itachi then looked back at me as Sasuke's screams continued. "You're not my little brother, but I got something else for you, Kei Misaki," Itachi said, a chilling sensation down my spine.

I sat up and slowly scooted back. Itachi's eyes changed shape, and the next moment, everything with black...
