MOTHERS LOVE

When Empress Vie saw his first son's expression, he couldn't help but let go of his second son gently and stride over to him in hurry.

"What's the matter?" She inquires, eyes worriedly scanning her son anxious expression, which made her heart flutter, and felt uneasy.

Wei, who felt something was wrong, approached his elder brother as well and inquired.

"Why do you have such a worried expression, Brother? What's wrong?" As he spoke these words, the emperor's trusted guards appeared like a wind through every corner of his palace, alerting him to the impending danger.

"What's going on, Mother? Why are all of our guards stationed at my house?" He inquires, his voice tinged with worry and panic like his elder brother's.

Cheng approached them further, his face drenched in sweat.

"Mother, we have to leave right away with Wei," he said, voice tingling with exhaustion from running.

"What? Why? What's wrong? Mother, what's going on?" Wei repeated his question, now feeling unsettled as he saw all his servants panickily leaving the house, while some guards are guiding them all up to fall in line and follow his order. This gave him goosebumps all over, but he snapped them away as he thought something.

"Is this part of father's surprise in my twentieth birthday, Mother?" he asks, his cheeky tone of voice attempting to surface his worry down to his stomach, believing this was a prank and a surprise his parents had planned for him.

He looked at his mother's face, which was calm and relaxed, but her breathing was erratic. This surprised him and made him rethink his question.

'Is something seriously wrong here?' He thought.

Wei's heart started racing with worry as he considered possible speculation, which increased his fret. Empress Vie approached his first son, forcing him to confront her and somehow missed his second son's question.

"A-cheng, please explain what's going on and where your father is right now."

Jiang Cheng stared at his mother, his eyes welling up with tears, his body trembling from fear, his knee shivering from panic, and he felt as if his foot would give out at any moment if he didn't hold something hard to keep him balanced in his position.

What is happening right now is too much for him; it was the first time he felt and saw his fear come true; Jiang Cheng was unprepared and too scared for this; he also couldn't comprehend what was going on at the time; he still felt that none of this was true, that there was no explosion or attack on their clan.

All of this was new and shocking to him. He was supposed to be in town right now, picking up the gift he had prepared for his younger brother, but instead he is at Wei palace, trembling and panicking, looking like a coward in front of his mother.

This is a complete farce! And unjust! They are all supposed to enjoy this day with his younger brother! Instead, this! What is this? Why does this have to happen now? Why is this happening? Why!

A-Cheng bit his cold lower lips to keep them from trembling too much as he forced himself not to answer his mother's question since his father had told him not to. He wanted to yell and punch the person who caused this to happen right now, but he couldn't because he had an obligation to protect Wei and his mother first.

'I'm going to kill that person. I won't spare anyone who ruined everything,' Jiang Cheng thought, his teeth clenched tight in rage, mind and hands itching for violence, blood, and satisfaction.
