THE BRIDGE
Princess Ding then secretly planted a person pretending to be a cloud clan disciple to track Wanji's every move until she discovered that Wanji had been sneaking out into the cloud clan every Sunday to meet up with someone more beautiful and fairer than her.
This piqued her interest in the bones, and she went on to use the Jeng clan leader and some Jeng people who were already corpse puppets as her cover to investigate such a person until she discovered that the person Wanji had been meeting was a man and not a simple person.
But it was the hidden second child of the Yao clan who has a rare case and hidden Gem inside his body, not to mention that his future husband Wanji is somehow very fond of the Yao clan's second prince.
Knowing such a fact, Princess Ding could not rest and immediately devised a well-planned strategy to destroy their both well-bind relationship, by using her planted puppet to inform Master Woo that his grandson has been sneaking out every Sunday.
Resulting in Wanji facing punishment, having a high fever, and forgetting all the memories he had shared with Wei Ying.
Since then, twenty-one years have passed smoothly and peacefully for Princess Ding, but her heart is still filled with worry and uncertainty since her husband only recognized her as a wife on paper, not in his heart.
This made her feel insecure and worried, knowing that the person her husband had previously admired was still alive and had grown ethereally more beautiful than her over the years, as her planted spy inside the Yao clan informed her.
She couldn't sit still, and the thought of losing her husband over a man ate at her.
What if his memory of him returns?
What if he recognizes him?
What if they cross paths?
What if he deserts me? And he chose him over me?
Ding became anxious and despondent, leading her to consider controlling Wanji's mind and making him her puppet, but she couldn't do so since she didn't want to harm the person she loved.
So she decided to simply destroy the Yao clan while also causing Wei to suffer a loss and killing him, using all of her corpse puppets from the Hu clan to her clan, the Jeng clan.
But she failed to capture and kill the Yao clan's second prince, who escaped with some of his people and his father's senior disciples.
But she never worries since the person she wanted dead is now closer to her side, and learning that her corpse puppet had injured some senior disciples from the Yao clan with a sword that had a corpse poison that she planted, a type of poison in which a person is given ten or eleven days to live after becoming a corpse and becoming her puppet, made her even feel more relaxed.
Knowing that the favor is fully on her side. Princess Ding gives all of the Yao clan people who were staying at the cloud clan with Prince Wei weeks to settle in and feel at ease, convincing them that they will have a new start in life after suffering only to crash it again.
Princess Ding silently used her living corpse puppet she planted as a disciple of the cloud clan to silently form a blood array at the back of the Moju peak to begin her plan by transforming those who had been injured by her puppet sword into one of her own and using it to disperse all the Yao people alongside Prince Wei's side, but she failed yet again!
The Yao clan's second prince is still alive and now owns a spiritual bird. Her husband had finally remembered every memory he had with him, leaving her with nothing but jealousy, envy, and even more deep resentment toward Prince Wei.
All she wants is to be with that person and to live in peace with that person in this world, but why? Why didn't the ending go the way she wanted it to? Why can't she just have him? Why can't he recognize him as a woman who adores him? Why?
Is what I've done insufficient? Do I have to make any more sacrifices? Why should I have to suffer just to get the person I want? Why? I adore him, and I am willing to devote my entire life to him, even if it means sacrificing myself. I adore him so much; why can't I have him without struggling?
"The boat that arrived at our private dock with an array and yellow string, was it all fabricated by you? As well?" Xichen asks and Princess Ding just smiles at him.
"Aren't I so heartless, Brother, Xichen? So tell me, this righteous path you were saying, am I still allowed to enter on it?" Princess Ding asked, enjoying seeing Lan Xichen's speechless expression that quickly rested and turned to collect one.
"I don't think you deserve it, but I also don't think you don't. I understand why you chose that path and why you do what you do; however, have you ever stopped to consider that what you do was never once done with my brother in mind, but only to feed your selfish ego?" Xichen continues.
"Also, from what I've gathered from your explanation, Prince Wei never steals my younger brother from you; they were fated to be together from the start, and it just so happened that you got strangled by it," Xichen stated, and Princess Ding couldn't help but frown, feeling offended.
"Are you saying, that I was the villain here? And everything I do is for my benefit? That I am self-centered? " Princess Ding responded.
"Yes, you are," Xichen replied quickly, his face stiff and cold.
"No. IM NOT! Those who caused me pain are the selfish ones! This world, this world. This world is a selfish place! This world has never once given me what I desired; this world... this world is unjust! "Princess Ding became lost in her thoughts and words, unaware that Lan Xichen had already rushed over to her and grabbed her right arm tightly, pulling her closer to him in a harsh manner to make her look straight at her, catching her off guard and taken aback.
"You are self-centered! Whether you realize it or not, your actions and everything you've done is. Everything is solely for your benefit. Or would you rather my brother say such things to you? Don't worry, I'll let him know, you just wait," Xichen said, finally reaching the end of his patience and causing the other person, who was now staring in fear, to panic.
"No, don't! Brother, Xichen. I accept, I accept. I'm, I'm selfish. Brother Xichen, no!" Princess Ding begged, but Xichen ignored her, pushing her away as he let go of her hand and stridden fast away from her, not stopping, until he reached the sliding door.
He opened it, and exited the chamber, leaving Princess Ding and May alone. A loud sobbing sound then rang inside the chamber.
"Jingyi, Wen Ning, stay here and act wisely. Do not let anyone know they're here. Do not enter the chamber without my permission. Sizhui will be joining you two later, just you two wait for me to come back, understand?" He instructed, his face still frosty, and the two youths simply nodded in unison, then he leave.
To be continued.
