THE SNOW FLOWER

On the way, the two people simply walked side by side; no one spoke and no one seemed to want to strike up a conversation. Both have opposing points of view and thoughts.

They continue walking, turning to the left side of the hall way, to reach the assigned room for the second prince of the Yao clan.

Wei cast a quick glance at Lan Zhan and couldn't help but notice the other's appearance.

He had grown well, taller than me as usual, sturdier, more masculine, and... Look at those unfriendly expressions, did he always have such expressions?

I'm curious what your reaction would be if I took this silk completely off my body; would you be shocked and rush to hug me, or... Wait! Why did he appear to have forgotten my name earlier? I say it loudly and deliberately, but never mind. It makes no difference. So...

"You must keep this cover on, Brother. You can only reveal yourself once you're inside your room. Don't go out and about a lot; this isn't our territory. Allow no one but our people to see your entire appearance. Understand? Do not let the cloud people see your appearance until our parents arrive. "

Wei sighed as his elder brother's words struck him like lightning, causing him to stop thinking about the person beside him.

He almost loses it, nearly exposing himself to someone he swore not to care about earlier. That's so funny, so funny. Wei chuckled inside, feeling silly and dumb, gripping the silk tightly in his right hand, making sure it doesn't fall off or reveal even a strand of his white hair, as he scoffs silently.

'Things have truly changed, and so have you.' he concluded, his eyes devoid of emotion.

Wei gradually returned to his normal self, no longer paying attention to the person next to him, who was still keeping a straight face, until a flash of memory from the past interrupted him, transporting him into a world of distractions.

"Wei!" Lan Zhan exclaimed, his eyes brimming with excitement and anticipation as he approached the second Yao prince residence.

Wei heard his shouts from outside and immediately opened his sliding door. Today, all of his servants were absent as he had requested to be alone in his residence for the day, with the hope that his friend from the cloud clan would arrive today, and he was completely right!

With joy in his eyes, the second prince of the Yao clan grabbed his long thick white fur fox cloak with hood that his mother had sewed for him as a gift, put on his leather white fur boots, and dashed out to his room.

He ran faster until he saw the person he was expecting to see with a cheerful smile.

"Wangji!" He exclaims back, sprinting over to where the other person is standing and leaping on him for a tight hug, as if they hadn't seen each other in a long time.

"I miss you," He mumbled.

"Uh-uh... I know, your hug says it all, and I can't breathe well..." Lan Zhan said, causing the other to laugh and gradually break the hug.

Since that one-night incident, the second grandson of the Cloud clan has been unable to stop thinking about the second son of the Yao clan and becoming curious about its true identity, until he does something he has never done before: he breaks rules and sneaks out without permission.

Every Sunday, he would sneak into the Yao clan just to see Wei, both of whom were still children at the time. They had become close friends since then, but Wei has continued to conceal his true capability and identity from the other person, which Lan Zhan also respected.
