THE LOST SPARK
"So, what do you want to play?" Lan Zhan asks out of nowhere, not wanting to go on about such uninteresting topics. He came here to spend time with his friend and create memories, not to discuss the future.
After hearing the other person's words, Wei immediately forgot about their previous topic, standing up and smiling cheekily.
"Come with me," he said, grabbing Lan Zhan's right hand and leaping out of his house before the other person could react, leaving the flower under the tree alone.
"Where— why are we here?" Lan Zhan inquires, perplexed, as they arrive at the dock with no one else present and only two wooden boats carefully tied in front of them.
Wei let go of his hand as he asked, smiling.
"Do you trust me?"
Lan Zhan blinks, looking straight at him, stunned by his unexpected question, but he quickly gathers himself and responds truthfully.
"Of course, I trust you," he says.
Wei is overjoyed after hearing his response.
"Good! Now let's steal some lotus seeds to eat, jeje," he exclaimed, startling Lan Zhan.
"But that's not right," Lan Zhan replied, his face filled with concern and disbelief.
"Aish! Don't worry, we won't get caught. I'm a thief expert. So, are you going?"
Wei winked at him and held his right hand in anticipation of his response.
Lan Zhan looked at him, unsure and insecure about Wei's plan. To be honest, this was the first time Wei revealed that he was an expert thief, and he was shocked, but it didn't change his opinion of his friend.
He still likes him; he doesn't mind; what matters now is his response. Lan Zhan sighs; he doesn't want to waste Wei's idea of fun, and he can't think of anything else to do that won't bore the other person, so he's stuck.
Back to his clan, he is a person who is constantly drowning in books and working on improving his cultivation as well as martial arts. He was a role model to everyone alongside his elder brother; he doesn't have time to slack off or do things that Wei used to do, so all he can do now is go with the flow.
"En," His respond, accepting the second prince of the Yao clan's suggestion of having fun and letting him do whatever he wanted. What matters to him is Wei's happiness and satisfaction; everything else is secondary.
He'll deal with the after math later, but for the time being, let him have his fun with me. Besides, he claimed to be a thief expert, which could only mean he hasn't been caught yet, right? I believe he has not yet been apprehended. I have faith in him.
Lan Zhan looked at him and saw a satisfied smile on his face. Wei was overjoyed when he heard his answer and immediately led them to one of the docked boats.
They both went inside and sat on the opposite side, while Wei untied the knot and started paddling with the wooden paddle, pointing towards the location where there are so many edible lotus seeds floating up the river, which were planted and owned by others.
When they arrived, Wei couldn't contain his excitement and happiness when he saw the abundance and healthy color of all the lotus, so he rashly plucks one out of its body and peels one seed, only to give it to Lan Zhan, who was just watching everything he did the entire time.
"Here eat," He said, pointing the seed to Lan Zhan's mouth, while the others stared at him for a moment before nodding and saying.
"...Okay,"
