THE ESSENCE
The sound of birds chirping continues to ring under the shade of the tree, spreading the warm vibe of the day, with some leaves falling down to the ground as a harsh breeze passes through it.
Making its body sway and dance to the beat of the wind that had now travelled up through the blue ocean sky, leading the cotton white clouds to journey all over the continent, creating different shapes that gave a smile and entertainment to all who were fond of its beauty, this continued until a day retired and in the blink of an eye two days had passed.
The time had come for a banquet. People from the cloud clan and the Yao clan were scattered, preparing, decorating, cooking, and making sure everything was in order inside the LanPing Peak Dua hall, where Lan Xichen decided to hold the banquet since he thought it would be safer and more preferable for all the Yao people.
At the residence where Emperor Fen's trusted disciple and his second son stays a sound of a two footsteps suddenly disturb the silent.
Jui's right ear flinched and became alert as he observed his surroundings with his enhanced vision and hearing. According to his calculations, the two people are now walking straight to their destination, down a quiet hallway with an exquisite wooden roof design painted in dark brown color.
Emperor Fen disciples became more attentive as he heard their footsteps approaching. Turning to his right, Jui then saw the previous servant he had chosen for their prince to serve him of everything he required.
Right, I almost forgot, no one can pass through this mountain without carrying the cloud clan's jade pendant. Knowing there was no danger and that it was just someone he knew relieved him, but it did not show on his face; instead, he maintained a calm expression.
He'd been out for so long and hadn't taken a nap that his mind began to waver, but how could he sleep? Everything is still chaotic, so why would he sleep? He is a senior disciple of his master, he has a duty to fulfill, and he is not weak! He doesn't need that much sleep.
'Sleep is only for the weak.'
The two young men approached him and greeted him, prompting him to also return the greeting with a smile and nod.
"You two wait a minute, I'll wake his highness first before you both enter," He said, and the two young men simply nodded.
When Emperor Fen disciple knocked twice on the tightly shut door, he heard a simple gentle humming voice owned by the person inside the room, giving him the impression that he had now given permission to open the sliding door and go inside.
Jui opens the sliding door with both hands and closes it from behind. He then bowed and looked straight at their prince, who was still sitting on the bed with his white blanket still covering his waist, stretching his both arms and yawning comfortably.
Surprisingly, those two days became peaceful for him, with no one bothering him and no critical thoughts running through his mind, which made him feel strange, but also glad, but mostly strange.
Who wouldn't, after all? His parents and brother are still in danger while he is here... not doing anything to help the situation, but what else can he do...? Yeah, that's exactly what I thought, nothing, right?
Wei sighs, helpless inside, just in time to ruin someone's lovely morning, eh? It's pointless to mope about it; it won't change anything, and it was true. So, why would I deny it and continue to think about it?
What matters is that his parents and elder are still alive and in a safe place. I mean, give him a break, all of this happened because of him, and he knows it. He tells himself this all the time. He was well aware of it, so there was no need to remind him.
