A CROW'S CRY

Wei sat in the corner of his ruined chamber, waiting for Lan Zhan to finish assisting and guiding some cloud clan disciples who had followed him inside the Moju peak unnoticed to save all the Yao people, but it was too late, leaving them all disappointed and feeling sorry for all those who had died in vain in a very inhumane manner.

As Wei had requested the second jade of the cloud clan earlier, they now placed all of the Yao people's remains inside each white jade cremation urn vase with a heavy heart.

Emperor Fen's second son impatiently rested his right arm on the nearly ruined wooden table, leaning his chin against it, while tapping his left foot into the floor, bored, until a familiar and youthful voice rang at his left.

"I'm surprised you're still alive,"

"Jingyi..."

"What? I'm just stating the obvious."

Wei turned to look and saw two familiar youths alongside another youth he had never met before, smiling as he stood up from the wooden chair he had been sitting on.

"Oh, hahaha, it's you two, and who is this new guy?" he exclaimed, his eyes pointing to the young man standing between Sizhui and Jingyi.

"Greetings, Prince Wei, my name is Lan Wen Ning, and I'm a junior disciple of the Cloud clan," Wen Ning said.

"It's a blessing to see you safe, Prince Wei, and I apologize for Jingyi's earlier words," Lan Sizhui cut in through their conversation, showing respect to him alongside Wen Ning, while Lan Jingyi simply raises his right eyebrow and looking at him confidently.

"Yeah, it's great to see you; how did you surviv-,"

"Jingyi..." Sizhui interrupts him immediately, causing Jingyi to clear his throat, his eyes awkwardly staring down to the floor as he now obediently shuts his mouth, while Wen Ning helplessly sighs as a result of Jingyi's unmannered and inconsiderate words.

Seeing the three young people showing their differences in front of him, Wei couldn't help but be entertained and released a laugh.

"Hahahahaha, you three truly made my day better," he said, causing the three disciples to look at him in astonishment that quickly turned to delight.

"We are thrilled to hear such Prince Wei, and we hope that it will continue to be so as time passes."

"No, I don't think so... as you can see, all of our Yao people have already died, and I am still alive, which, as Jinyi said, is surprising; did you not speculate that perhaps I am the one who causes all of this commotion or who kills our people?"

"I..." Sizhui was left speechless by his words; hearing the second prince of the Yao clan say such a thing itself, truly leave the youth to enter a deep reflection on the situation.

Observing him at a loss for words and thoughtfully considering his remarks, Wei only chuckles and looked at Sizhui before continuing.

"I was only kidding. If I were the one who caused this whole mess, I must have had a more powerful cultivation exercise than your seniors, but sadly I was none of those. But, just for safety always remember to never trust even someone dearer to your heart. People always carry masks under their sleeves, you three must keep that in mind."

Sizhui and Wen Ning only nodded in agreement, while Jingyi simply stared at him and said,

"But as you know, our life is different from yours,"

"Jingyi!" Sizhui interrupted him once more, this time in an abrasive tone that caused the other to look guilty and away from him.

This made Emperor Fen's second son laugh once again and reply.
