THE AWAKENING
Fui went beside Wei and asked for permission to hold him close, making a hasty decision to use some of his spiritual power to transport them quickly back to Wei's chamber as he smelled a strong scent of blood slowly wrapping the place, making him wary.
Meanwhile, Emperor Fen's second son, who was still staring at the path Jui and his father's other disciple had gone to, turned to look at him and nodded.
His face was calm and collected, concealing the concern that his heart was screaming, unaware of the smell of blood that burst out of the air fifteen miles away.
Emperor Fen's disciple Fui rashly held their second prince's waist securely with his right hand, using just the right amount of strength, then they vanished without a trace.
When they returned to the chamber, Fui immediately used his wind power to close all windows as well as the door inside the room, then erected a barrier around the chamber while standing in front of the door, eyes straight ahead and ears alert to the sounds outside.
At the same time, Wei, who was sitting in the chair beside the wooden table, kept tapping his left index finger on his left leg, nervously waiting for Jui to return, but to his surprise, four days had passed and Jui had still not returned.
What exactly is going on?
This made the second prince of the Yao clan alarmed and speculate that his right, the situation might not truly be as simple as it appears.
It must be the work of those two clans!
Wei clenched his left hand into a fist, frustrated and angry, he couldn't think straight anymore, the worry in his heart and the panic in his mind about their unknown situation ate away all of his patience.
On the day they left the HenDu residence, he could no longer fall asleep. He stayed wide awake for four days alongside Fui, who repeatedly begged him to take rest and eat, but he refused.
For some unknown reason, his body did not feel tired or sleepy and his stomach did not feel hungry. He had no idea why.
Perhaps he was preoccupied with what was going on, or it could have been something else.
But since he refused to rest or eat, his father, another trusted senior disciple Fui, was forced to transfer some vital energy to him to keep his health and body stable.
"Fui, do you know what's going on?" He stared intently at the person who was still guarding the front door and not facing him as this replied to him.
"To answer his highnesses question, this disciple, too, has no idea what is going on,"
He truly had no idea what was going on; the reason he hurriedly went to HenDu's residence to meet with Jui that day was for another reason unrelated to what was occurring right now.
Wei couldn't help but sigh and stand up to pat the other's shoulder after hearing his honest response.
"I see you sit down to rest for the time being. You've been standing in the same spot for four days. You should sit for a while," he suggested, but Fui refused, insisting that he was fine, then requested to go outside for a while to monitor the situation, and Emperor Fen's second son simply nodded.
His father's disciple quickly unsheathed his sword, retracted the barrier that surrounded the chamber, then slowly opened the sliding door and went outside, closing the door from behind him, while he remained inside nervously waiting for Fui to return.
However, after an hour had passed, his father's disciples had still not returned, which caused Wei to become impatient, prompting him to make the unthinkable decision to also go outside to see what was going on.
But, as he was about to take a step closer to the sliding door, a clang of two sharp swords rang outside his door, followed by a dried growling sound of some kind of wild animal, which shocked him and caused him to hurriedly back away, piercingly staring at the door, his heart thumping fast from trepidation.
Emperor Fen's second son immediately searched for a weapon to use if danger arose, but he was unable to locate any sharp object that could assist him, causing the second prince of the Yao clan to become agitated.
This left Wei with no choice but to stand beside his bed with an anxious heart and nervous expression when his door was suddenly knocked down by a strong gust of wind, prompting him to cover his eyes with his two arms and flick away the dust that was blowing towards him with his long sleeve.
"You're Highness! Hurry, call Yoyo, and get out of here!" A familiar voice of an elder man jolted the second prince of the Yao clan out of his reverie and made him look straight, only to see Mujing holding a sword, blocking the attack of the person who had been guarding him just a moment ago, who now appeared to be a completely different person.
Emperor Fen's second son is rendered speechless, unable to look away from Fui, who now has dried skin like a mummy, as if something has sucked him.
His face became ugly and wrinkled, his eyes turned completely white, and his voice sounded like a hungry beast.
What happened? Why is this happening, I...?
Wei was startled by the sight, which left him stiff in his position and perplexed.
"You're Royal Highness! Hurry! I'm not sure how much longer I can take this, summon yoyo now!" Mujing called out to him with difficulty, as if he was nearing the end of his endurance.
Emperor Fen's son jerked back into reality, hurriedly touching his father's bracelet and calling out for Yoyo.
"Come out, Yoyo, and lead the way,"
Emperor Fen's loyal bird then appeared without delay, flapping its wings and releasing a piercing cry as it stared at the two people who were currently fighting.
"Your highness, please forgive me for keeping something from you, but trust me when I say that we are only following Prince Jiang's orders. I am grateful for the opportunity to exchange my life for yours. Yoyo, make sure to get his highness out of here safely and successfully; don't let your current master down. He believes in you."
Hearing Mujing say such words, Wei looked straight at him, his heart racing with expectation and his face full of questions, but seeing how critical the situation is, Emperor Fen's second son just closed his eyes for a moment, forcing himself to not entertain all the questions that were forming inside his head and quickly nodded at Mujing, before hastily heading out of his room with Yoyo, who replied with another piercing cry before flying away leading the way.
He had no idea where Yoyo was taking him, but for some unknown reason, he completely trusts the bird and keeps running after it as if his life depended on it, while a few tears fall from his eyes.
To be continued.
