THE BREEZE

The next day, Wei awoke to the sound of hurried foot steps outside the chamber he was in. With his body curled up like a ball, he opened his sleepy eyes, blink three times for clear vision, and yawned as he stretched all of his sore muscles. He sat up tiredly, scratching his neck and back, his eyes darting around the room, only to realize he had spent the night sleeping on the floor.

'Did I get too tired the other day and forget to get into bed?'  He yawned once more.

He looked down at his hand and saw the silk he had used the day before. Suddenly, everything that had happened to him the previous day came rushing through him, causing him to let out a trembling sigh and clench the silk tight in his hand, his face bothered.

Wei closes his eyes for a moment to relax, then shifts his gaze away from the silk, directing his eyes to the open window inside his chamber, which continues to welcome the free breeze alongside tiny leaves from the tree planted beside the window.

The second prince of the Yao clan still believed that everything that had happened to him and his family was a dream.

Is he truly no longer in his palace? He's finally at the clan his father had put his trust in, right?

Wei took a deep breath and returned his gaze to the silk before standing up and stretching his two arms again when the sliding door behind him abruptly opened, causing him to flinch and panickily cover back the silk into his body.

"Ah!"

A teenager's startled high pitch voice rang out behind him. Wei turned around, still easing his surprised self, and saw one young man standing in all white, representing the cloud clan, his face still terrified.

"You, who are you? Why did you suddenly open somebody's door? My god! You almost give me a heart attack! Did you saw my hair?" he asks nervously, and the young man shakes his head no, his face still adjusting from the shock. Finally, Wei sighs and smiles at him.

"Great! And what can I do for you?" he asks, looking at the young disciples of the cloud clan who were now straightening up and adjusting his expression back to normal, while clearing his throat as he felt embarrassed from shouting like a coward a moment ago.

But it's not his fault; he was caught off guard. Are you sure you won't yell in surprise when you see a white human figure so close to you? You'll also scream in terror, right? Hmp!

"Ahem! I'm Lan Jingyi, one of the cloud clan's young disciples, and I'll be your guard and tour guide for today, as Hanguang Jun is occupied," said the young man, who stood six feet one inch tall.

'Occupied? Must be his wife. So devoted and caring, ha!' Wei scoffs inside his head.

"Is that so? But you know, I'm not really fond of going out that much, and I'm not interested in your clan or etc. Oh, but I do need a breakfast, where can I get one?" He asks, holding his stomach with his right hand, an expression of hunger on his face. Wei, like his elder brother, was not given the chance to eat as a result of what the two clans had done.

'Come to think of it, my brother, he hasn't eaten anything either.' Wei sighs, thinking about his elder brother.

'I hope he's doing well and that they get back here safely,' he hopes in whisper, briefly distracted, then smiling at the person in front of him.

"So? Where should I eat?" He asks again, this time with a smile that borders on a grin.

In the other location, three people are now riding their spiritual swords towards the secret location where they will receive a secret guest from another clan. The three people showed no signs of tiredness or exhaustion.

In this world, if you ride your swords for two hours using your spiritual power, your body will feel exhausted and tired because your spiritual power is linked to your core. Unless you have spent years honing your endurance and spiritual powers, your body may only last ten hours without becoming tired or exhausted.

Continuing on their journey, three of them saw three boats ahead of them with the people they expected to see. They quickly reach down on the ground and walk over to their expected visitor.

"Are these all of your people?" Lan Zhan inquired, concerned as he only saw four enhanced senior disciples of the Yao clan arrive with three large boats.

Among the four clans that remain, the Yao clan is the only one with a large population, and seeing how few people had only arrived surprised the second jade of the cloud clan.

One of the senior disciples from Yao clan approached him, his face tired and his breath exhausted, his body full of blood, and some injuries from a sword still fresh.

"W-we couldn't, successfully retrained them along other's. On the way, ten of Jeng senior disciple surged a surprise attack. Some of my subordinate along their boat got trapped on their... We had done what we could, but..."

Emperor Fen's senior disciples became choked up from sobs as he tried to explain everything to Master Woo's second grandson, shoulder trembling, remembering all the horrifying and unmerciful things that had happened to their people and to his other senior brothers.

He finally let all of his suppressed emotions out as they safely navigated the long river. They were finally safe, and he had finished his mission, but he still felt incomplete as he had lost a sworn brother and a family. Everyone had watched him and heard his cries.

When they saw one of their strong people crying in despair, everyone else on the boat began to mourn and cry louder, like a defeated lion.

Lan Zhan was taken aback, but immediately felt sympathy and an unknown emotion inside, but he maintained a straight face, displaying no weakness or emotion.

"Sizhui, Wen Ning, go gather them all and lead them through the Cloud palace, ask the others to assist them in settling in and resting at their respective chambers. I will stay behind for a while to check the perimeter," He said, and the two young disciples bowed at him before beginning their task.

Lan Zhan approaches the sobbing Yao clan senior disciples and places his right hand on the other shoulder.

"Do not show your fragility to your people again, it will only made everything worse; you all did everything you could and that's all that matters; you all rest well for today and gain all your strength; you and your brother's fight is still not over," He said, then passed through his side and left, leaping through every tree branch like an assassin, joining the wind.
