LET ME GET ME
Wei's gaze followed them for a brief moment, until a memory of what had happened between him and Lan Zhan earlier passed by, making him feel uncomfortable and scoff silently.
His mood is deteriorating again; seeing his childhood friend's wife after her husband had harassed him made Wei feel like a fool; he felt like a villain, who has an obsession with taking other people's authority right now, which he detests.
But he didn't think about it anymore since the person who committed such heinous act was the second jade of the cloud clan, not him. He's just an outsider who got sucked into the romance of other people's lives. It's a waste of time to ponder such trivial matters...
Actually, that person still owes him an apology for stealing his first kiss, but whatever, he don't want to be associated with him again. Hays...
Drama would always find its way into people's lives, distracting them from completing their life goals. Full of nonsense!
Emperor Fen son's brow furrowed in displeasure, but it quickly returned to its normal position as he shifted his gaze back to the person he wanted to meet at this location and focused his mind on the reason he had come to Lan Xichen palace.
"I noticed that brother Zhan's wife appeared pale and weak. Is she going to pass away soon?" He inquires, his eyes filled with fake concern and pretend innocence.
To be honest, he just uses this pretext to capture this person's mentality and slowly orchestrate their conversation, allowing him to manipulate this person's words in front of him later.
"You see through her, Brother Wei is truly a son of Emperor Fen sharp and honest," Xichen replied, face calm and collected, but inside he was bothered by how bold the prince of Yao clan words were, but he understood, after all, he was right.
His younger brother's wife's face says it all; she's truly draining out, so he didn't pay attention to the other person's words and interpreted it as him being straightforward.
"Of course, I only tell the truth; I have never told a lie. One thing I despise in people is lying. So, I only tell the truth," Wei responds with a beaming smile, while Lan Xichen simply smiles back and responds.
"I'm glad to hear that; why don't we go inside so we can talk more comfortably?"
Wei simply nodded in response to his suggestion, and they proceeded immediately.
They are now sitting on the opposite soft circle cushion, which is just the right size for them to sit beside the bamboo table, which is set up for a cozy tea time.
The mint sensation emitted from the room, along with the woody smell of incense mixed with the aroma of mint green tea, which spread throughout the living room, making people feel relaxed and comfortable.
Sipping the fragrant warm tea that Xichen had offered him. Wei smiled with relief as his mind relaxed and became less tense. He enjoyed how this tea made all of his nerves feel slightly calmer. It caused him to forget about his worries and simply sit with no thoughts inside.
After finishing his portion, the prince of the Yao clan returned the porcelain jade cup to the table in front of him and thanked the first jade of the cloud clan for providing him with such a fine tea.
"You're always welcome, Brother Wei, but it's just tea, so no need for politeness. I'm glad you came to see me today. I was about to pay you a visit at LanPing Peak to discuss the banquet I was planning for you. In order to properly welcome you and your people here at our clan," he said, startling the other person.
"Banquet? That is quite extravagant. There's no need, you already provide shelter and have fully accepted us here, that's enough," Wei replied, dismissing the first jade of the cloud clan idea of preparing such an unnecessary thing for them.
It's not like they'll live here forever, once his parents and brother arrive, they'll leave and find another place to live in seclusion, so why bother? Preparing such a thing is a waste of effort and money.
"I know, but this was also a request from your father, Emperor Fen, who wrote it on the letter Jui gave me, and he wanted to at least let you celebrate your belated 20 birthday alongside your elder brother,"
Hearing him address his father tightened Wei's heart, the anxiousness he had forgotten to feel for a moment suddenly surged through him like a storm, reminding him of all the reasons why he proceeded to this place, he can't wait, he needs to know right away.
"The boat," he said, trying to calm his impatient heart.
"What?" Lan Xichen looks at him, puzzled, and notices him now wearing an impatient and dismissive expression.
"Tell me honestly, did the boat that came from our clan truly not have someone control over it? If you say yes, I would immediately leave this place with our people. I can't stay in a place that my father trusted but made him look like a fool. I can't stand people like that," Wei said to Master Woo's grandson, who was stunned and speechless by his words for quite a moment.
He completely changed the subject with his pace. Lan Xichen stared at him for a long time before releasing a sigh, breaking the tension on his shoulder.
"I know you would suspect something amiss in such a case, after all, you are the Emperor's son," he replied with a gentle smile, while Wei simply stared at him, eyes suspiciously drawn to the other person, not blinking or moving from his position.
Xichen glanced at Jui and smiled, his eyes seeming to hint at something, and Emperor Fen's trusted disciple who stood behind their Prince nodded at him, before he continued to speak and returned his attention to the person in front of him.
"The other day, after visiting you at LanPing Peak, our disciples and I gave the boat that had arrived another inspection, and since we hadn't found anything strange, I used a slight spiritual power to flip the boat upside down, and that's when I saw a spiritual yellow string that Hu clan use, being tied through some array that drawn in to the boat,"
As Master Woo's first grandson continued to explain and express himself, his gaze was drawn to a table with a cup of hot tea, his eyes observing the color of the mint tea within his cup.
"We check the array and discover this as only a holder of the string, so we followed the trail lead through the string instead, but it got caught halfway, which was strange, so I ask our disciples to continue scouting the area in low profile so as not to raise suspicions from other clans," he concludes.
"And the yellow string? Where is the yellow string? I want to see it; words aren't enough; I need proof," Wei demands firmly. He wouldn't believe anything this person said to him until he saw what he was talking about.
To be continued.
