VULNERABLE
The air around them became tense as the two people stared at each other, but before it could fully wrap around the room, one of them broke it with considerate words.
"Of course, I'll have my brother Wanji show you the spiritual yellow string and the symbol array that I've drawn through the paper later," he says.
Hearing him say so, Wei finally let out a deep sigh of relief and nodded, looking at his empty cup, which was now being refilled with tea by Master Woo grand son.
"Don't worry, Brother Wei. I'm sure your parents and older brother are safe with my grandfather. For I received my grandfather's spiritual butterfly this morning, and it was carrying a peaceful weight, which can only mean they are completely safe," he said, drawing the second prince of the Yao clan's full attention to him.
"Can you explain what you mean by the spiritual butterfly?" Wei's words sound like something an innocent child would ask, so Xichen chuckled and smiled appreciatively at him.
Master Woo first grandson returned the wooden tea pot to the table, adjusted himself, and used his right hand to show to Emperor Fen second son his golden spiritual transparent butterfly, which was now flying above his right open palm. Mesmerizing the person in front of him, who is captivated by the beauty of it.
"We cloud clan only use our spiritual butterfly when we are trapped in a situation. My grandfather simply told me to keep a low profile about things in our clan since they might not be able to return here because the other clan still has a tail around them, but we should not worry as they are now in a safe place," Lan Xichen explained, observing the person's expression in front of him and retracting his spiritual power back inside him, as he dissolve the image of the golden butterfly from his palm, drawing Wei's attention away from it.
"I see, so that boat that arrived the other day must be," Emperor Fen son had deduced.
"Yes, it's a trap," Xichen concludes his speculation emphatically. Wei stares at him intently before nodding in agreement through his words.
"Then I recommend that you and your people join us in hiding at LanPing Peak," he said, making the first jade of the cloud clan feel glad and warm at his thoughtful words.
"We can't, at least not yet," Lan Xichen replied warmly.
Wei assumed that seeing the other person in this manner meant that this person had already devised a plan. He sighs, okay, he won't argue about it any longer. But...
"If you need assistance, just ask. Even though we are small in numbers, my father senior disciple's strength is equal to all your disciples' strength," he said, and Xichen simply nodded.
"I will, thank you. What about the banquet?" Master Woo first grandson begins to resume their previous conversation.
"Ah, right about that; I believe our people need a cheerful environment as well, so go ahead. But please make it less extravagant; I don't have a lot of money to compensate for all the sacrifices you've made for us," Wei says, eliciting a slight laugh from the cloud clan's first jade.
"Hahaha, Brother Wei, don't be concerned. I made this willingly for you all without thinking of a trade,"
"Oh? Then I fully accept your words, Brother Xichen no take back," Wei replied.
His mood finally had returned to normal, dissolving the protective barrier he had erected around him, and his suspicion of this person in front of him had lessened slightly.
"Of course," Xichen replied quickly, relieved upon feeling Emperor Fen second son's protective aura was dissipating a little around him.
Hearing him place such importance on the Yao clan, Wei couldn't help but feel pleased. He smiled gratefully, then remembered something that prompted him to make a quick request.
