CRUMBLING MEMORIES
Wei breathed a sigh of relief as he heard Lan Jingyi's footstep walk away from his chamber, but he still took a moment to ensure that the other person was finally far enough away from his room, then turned to face the mesomorph man standing beside his bed, wearing a white hanfu representing the Cloud clan, but his aura is completely from the Yao clan.
"This disciple greets His Highness Prince Wei. It's good to see you've arrived safely at this clan, and a belated happy twentieth birthday to you," said the man, who stood six point seven inches tall, nearly as tall as he was.
"Thank you, I'm glad to see you've arrived safely here as well, Jui, which means our people have arrived safely here as well, right?" Wei ask, but Jui remained silent, his face showing that he would not respond soon, but Emperor Fen second son was unable to see such expression as he stride over to his room's table and sat in the wood chair in front of it, completely forgetting what he had just asked, his gaze suspiciously fixed on the other person.
"Where is Aye? I asked him to come here, so why is he not here with you?"
"I apologize for the unwelcome intrusion, Prince Wei," he explained,
"But Aye could never tend to you anymore."
Wei looked at him with stern and observing eyes.
"Why? Is he occupied with assisting our people? But he's my servant, and he can-"
"The emperor, your father and my master, had killed him, as well as the five maids who had looked after you since you were a child," Jui cut his words short by telling him directly of his intention and reason for visiting him in his chamber.
"...Wh-what? What did you just say, Jui?" Wei asked, stuttering, his face buffering, as if he hadn't heard the other person's words clearly; his heart was already racing with unsure speculation, and his skin felt a creeping coldness crawling up to him, but he ignored it by thinking calmly.
Jui looked straight at him, but couldn't muster the courage to keep his gaze at him for too long, so he looked back down at the floor, his face filled with remorse and an inexplicable feeling as he clenched his both hands into a fist, gathering the strength to reply to their master second son again.
"Aye. He's one of the Jeng clan's spies planted in our clan. No, his real name is Luie, not Aye," Jui explained, his eyes filled with disappointment and hidden anger as he remembered everything that had happened to the Yao clan as a result of the person he had just mentioned.
Wei couldn't help but stand up from his chair, feeling a shock of unknown electricity all over his body, and feeling dizzy as he held the table with both hands.
Hearing such words slip into his father disciple's mouth made him feel as if the ground beneath him was crumbling. His body felt so heavy that he think he couldn't stand straight if he didn't grip the table in front of him tightly.
Emperor Fen's second son's breath quickened and he silently panted, trying to find a passage inside his lungs so he could breathe properly, as his heart felt as if it had been clenched tight, he couldn't believe it. He couldn't...
"You're lying..." Wei said, his voice dry as he forcefully tried to control the unexplainable emotion he felt inside his heart, by breathing deeply, gulping it all down inside his stomach.
He won't believe it, he won't believe it until he has heard everything. He'll never believe it! Aye couldn't, he wouldn't, but Jui said he wasn't Aye...
