LING YOYO

Thirty minutes after leading his new master in the right direction, Yoyo comes to a halt in front of an abandoned cabin that is already covered in green grass, with only a slight view of the sliding door can be seen visible.

The location Yoyo had chosen was seven walking meters away from all of the habitat residences. It's secluded, and it appears that no one has used the spot in decades, as the grass has taken over the structure.

Wei went to open the door, and almost immediately, the smell of the old cabin combined with the mist of dust enveloped him without warning, causing him to accidentally inhale all the rough smell and cough three times.

He abruptly covers his nose and mouth with his right palm, while his left hand waved away the dirty mist that had been gathering in front of him to see what was inside.

When he finally gets inside alongside Yoyo, who had already landed on the ground and was now walking like a stiff statue beside him, Emperor Fen's second son noticed that each root from all the grass outside was already wrapping all the wood, from the ceiling to the wall, treating it like soil.

At the very least, it keeps the cabin standing for decades.

Yoyo's eyes had also seen such a thing, keenly observing the inside of the cabin while keeping his ear sharp to hear the sound of the outside.

Wei wander his eyes further inside and could not help but notice that the cabin was neither too big nor too small; it was just the right size, almost like a place where people used to stock all their firewood for safekeeping during the winter or rainy seasons.

He then spotted an old wooden chair in the right corner that has a slight soil, surrounded by Fescue, and Ryegrass.

Emperor Fen's son walked over to it and sat down, unconcerned about how filthy it was, with a long exhaled sigh of relief.

He'd been running for so long that he couldn't feel his feet anymore. Previously, the situation had rendered him numb and unable to feel any exhaustion; all he could feel was a desperate need to flee to safety, and now that he had found a safe haven, Wei could finally relax his guard, close his eyes, and relax all his sore muscles.

Surprisingly, after doing so, his body let go of all his worries and he fell asleep sitting, unaware that Yoyo had used one of his abilities to burst out a relaxing scent from his wings to put the other to sleep, which could only affect his bond master and not others.

Yoyo stared at him for a second, and when he heard his master's relaxing breath, this then slightly flapped its wings without creating wind or sound.

Only to exceed a pink-violet dust color that had wrapped his body, making it glow for a second until a tall sturdy man with long slim dark brown hair came into view, dressed in a chest-revealing dark black-brown knee robe with long brown feathers attached to its side covering the view of his back.

A gold steel bracelet was tied around his left arm and left thighs, which have a long red carved tattoo of ancient writing that only his kind and bond master can understand or read.

His eyes were cat-like in shape and dark brown, both his eyelids had a red brow line that looked like a trace of eyeliner, and his both long lashes were colored gold pixie dust that twinkled and glow when he unconsciously blinks.

His skin is smooth and tanned, and he has a few medium-sized brown-white feathers hanging from his both arms, indicating that he is not a complete human being, but rather a spiritual being.

Yoyo stood barefoot, his nails as sharp as a sword, capable of killing two people in two swings and slitting someone's throat in one go.

Wei spiritual bird stretched all of his muscles for a moment, strangely feeling the coldness of the ground on his feet.

He hadn't used his human form in so long, and it feels weird. The last time he transformed into a human was when the deceased grandmaster of the Ling clan proposed to him that he be given as a betrothal gift to the next Grandmaster of the Yao clan, with the mission of protecting his deceased master's future grandchildren.

Although centuries and generations had passed, he had not aged. Well, what can he expect? He's a spiritual being, someone who does not age regardless of how long they live.

Yoyo was dazed for a moment before returning his gaze to the person he had temporarily put to sleep. He then returned to the front, only to stride closer to the still-open sliding door and shut it tightly, enveloping the entire area in darkness.

He sat in front of the now-sealed door, guarding it, and after two hours, the sound he had been expecting was now roaming around their area, angrily searching for something, or should he say someone.

But he will never give them what they want; they must first go through him and defeat him before they can have what they want.

Yoyo, like his master, had no idea what was going on right now, but he was certain that the corpse that had attacked them earlier was being controlled by something or someone who could use dark practices on someone's body, turning it into a puppet.

He is aware of such things since he and the deceased grandmaster of the Ling clan have faced them before.

Previously, the Ling clan collaborated with the Yao clan and the Hu clan to search for the origins of those demonic practices for one month. They all made certain to kill those who started it, ensuring that no one was left to rebuild such dangerous practices again, but he couldn't believe he would face it again in this situation.

Did anyone manage to flee that day? However, the master thoroughly examined it, and everyone died on that day...

Curse it! Who would dare to repeat such forbidden practices? Humans are truly despicable and stupid! Do they not realize it will devour their brain and heart? Only stupid, completely stupid people would do such a thing!

It's a good thing he can put people to sleep, or else his deceased master's second grandson will be in a lot more trouble, as this puppet is good at mimicking other people's voices that their target wants to hear, just like now.

Two puppets are currently impersonating his master's father and mother, Emperor Fen, and Empress Vie.

Tsk! As if I'd let you lure my master out of this cabin. Not even a chance!

Yoyo silently rose from his position and prepared to fight, all his feathers trembling and standing excitedly.

He waited for the expected enemy to arrive and barge in, but to his surprise, the sound just passed by where they were staying and faded away.

Yoyo was perplexed, but deep down he felt relieved. Even though he knows how to fight, the strength of those thirsty beings is greater than his; for God's sake, those puppets had previously learned how to cultivate.

How can you compare a spiritual being to someone with a high level of cultivation?

He could never defeat or even level them. He's just a spiritual being who learned how to fully control his spiritual abilities and perform minor martial arts from his deceased master.

He is not an expert cultivator, unlike many of his previous masters. His sharp claws are his only advantage in winning the battle.

Yoyo remained on high alert for three hours, keeping his senses and hearing sharp from the outside.

When he no longer sensed any danger or disturbing sound, he finally decided to adjust his guard and return to sit comfortably in front of the door, still keeping guard until morning.

To be continued.
