THE GEMINI
Mujing smiles at the emperor's second grandson, Jung, and feels warm on the inside as he hears him speak considerately.
"How have you been, your highness? I heard the first jade of the cloud clan gave you a spiritual bird," Emperor Fen's friend inquires, which surprised Wei when he mentioned the gift he had just received from Jui.
"How did you know? Who told you?" He inquired, perplexed as to how Elder-Jing knew about such a thing.
'Did Jui tell him?' Wei speculated while observing Mujing, whose eyes were now directed to the person standing guard at his back; he abruptly tilted his head to the side to look at Jui, but his father's disciple only nodded at him, leaving him more puzzled.
What exactly is going on? Did he truly inform Elder Jing of my gift? But why is that? Why is this so? I don't remember them being this close before.
Emperor Fen's second son had the feeling he had missed something important, but he never pursued it further, preferring to focus on what was happening right now.
"I see, Jui had told you," he said, turning to face Elder-Jing, who was calm and collected.
"No, the first jade of the cloud clan did," Mujing replied, leaving the prince even more perplexed.
"What?" He looks at his father's friend, speechless and taken aback.
When Elder Jing saw his confused expression, he couldn't help but laugh and explain things further.
"Before the banquet, the temporary grandmaster of the cloud clan pays me a visit to inquire about the type of gift you would like to receive. I only say that you like anything that requires simplicity and genuine sincerity, but I had no idea he would give you such a magnificent gift. As expected, the cloud clan's offspring never fail to impress."
So it's not Jui, but Lan Xichen...
So why does he nod? What exactly does he mean?
Wei tilted his head to the side again, this time sternly looking at Jui's, his eyes bursting with a warning before smiling and turning back to the front.
As a result, his father's disciple was uneasy and stiff to the ground, keeping his head straight and not looking down at their prince, gulping down the inexplicable anxiety that was building up inside his heart. Jui had a feeling he had done something wrong to their second prince but couldn't pinpoint what, leaving him nervous and baffled.
"I see, so Brother Xichen asked you, which explains it," Wei responded thoughtfully.
But why ask Elder Jing rather than Jui?
'Is there any connection between them? Do they have any prior acquaintances? And why the hell did Jui nod? It's making me even more perplexed! He's getting on my nerves right now,'
Emperor Fen's son sighed, unable to stop his thoughts from roaming freely until he could no longer refrain from asking expressively.
"Does Elder Jing have any ties to the Cloud Clan?"
"Why do you inquire?" Elder Jing spoke up.
"It's just that Elder Jing must be close to Brother Xichen since he asked you about my preferred gift instead of Jui; had the two of you ever met?"
Hearing his words, which were tinged with suspicion. Mujing expectedly smiled at him before responding.
"Yes, grandmaster Woo and I had been friends together with your father, Emperor Fen, for a long time. We met due to my line of work, and on the day of Prince Jiang's first-ever banquet, he happened to introduce me to his two grandsons, which is how the two jades of the cloud clan became acquainted with me."
"I see, so that's how it is..." Wei replied when he suddenly had a thought and asked.
"Does Elder Jing know how to care for the spiritual birds and what their capabilities are?"
Jui's eyes immediately became strict as he looked at Mujing with a warning, but Emperor Fen's friend did not appear to be affected by his disciple's stare threat, as he only smiled, the kind of smile that says he has everything under control and not to worry.
"I do, and the spiritual bird is a breeze to raise. You do not need to feed them; simply release them from your bracelet and allow them to roam the land for five hours to feed themselves; they will return already full. In terms of their home. You don't need a cage or anything else to use as their nest; the bracelet in your hand can become their home. For the bracelet already contains a contract," Mujing explained.
Wei was enlightened after learning such details about his spiritual bird, which prompted him to inquire further.
"Contract?"
"Yes, meaning whenever a person accepts and wears such a bracelet wholeheartedly, the spiritual bird will recognize you as a lifelong master, which leads to you and the bird becoming connected, through emotions and death," Elder Jing replied.
"But," he paused, looking at the prince, whose face was filled with expectation and anticipation.
"But, what? Aiyo, don't stop in the middle of your sentence, Elder Jing. People despise it," Wei couldn't stop himself from complaining, eager to hear what the elder had to say about Yoyo further.
"Hahaha, fine, fine. Forgive this elder, ahem," Elder Jing cleared his throat, amused by their second prince's irritated reaction.
"As I was saying, the only capability of the spiritual bird that you currently have is to carry a message and only guide the person they are serving to the correct path. When you are on the verge of danger, they are quick to think of a way to get you out of it. But when it comes to other things, they are no longer capable."
"You mean, they don't have any kind of capability that can be used in battle?" Wei inquires, his heart slowly filling with disappointment.
"Yes," Mujing simply replied, but the second prince of the Yao clan refused to accept this conclusion, insisting on finding another way to use Yoyo powerfully.
"How about enchantment? And what about things like dark magic?"
His last sentence caused the two people with him to flinch in surprise, get goosebumps, and become wary.
"No, if you use the spiritual bird in this manner, it will die immediately, as will you," Mujing hurriedly stated, and Wei couldn't help but let out a long sigh.
"So there's no other way, ha," he muttered, bitterly disappointed, while Mujing only nodded.
Turn out, I still could not have changes in myself.
Things are still the same.
"Ha... Well? At the very least, I now have a spiritual bird, and that is sufficient. Is that right, Elder Jing?" Wei asked, a satisfied smile on his face, but deep down he still hopes that he can still use Yoyo powerfully without both of them dying, but Mujing's nod just now says otherwise, sending him into the deepest land of defeat.
To be continued.
