UNTANGLED STRING

Even though the answer is obvious, Sizhui remains uncertain.

"Sizhui, do you happen to know why Princess Ding, I mean, sister... Aish! That woman, does she even deserve to be called names? She is so evil, so..." Zizhen looked over at the others, who were three steps next to him, and saw this only staring at the pond, deep in thought and unconcerned, seemingly unaware that he'd been talking to him the entire time.

"Sizhui?" Zizhen moved closer and touched his shoulder with his left hand, causing Sizhui to flinch from the unexpected touch and look at him for a moment before blinking and saying.

"Uh, forgive me. I... I was taking a moment's respite from thinking about something. Can you accompany brother Xichen back to his house after they've finished talking, Zizhen?" Sizhui finally snapped out of his reverie.

"Ah? Em, I will. Are you going somewhere?"

Sizhui returns his gaze to the pond and nods.

"I'll go check on Wen Ning and Jingyi," he says, his lips forming a thin smile.

"All right, tell them I said hello and that I'll see them tomorrow, and I'll bring Wen Ning's favorite chicken soup, which I'll cook in secret tomorrow early in the morning while everyone is still sleeping, and I'll bring one emperor wine that I've been keeping in my chamber for months for Jingyi tomorrow, hehehe," Zizhen said with a slight laugh.

"Aiya, It's been a while since we four got together and had some fun, like the old days. Everyone is so busy these days, is not fun anymore. It's truly boring and scary if you slowly turned into an adult, things change and won't stay the same, but I hope we four will stay the same and will not change," Zizhen added, his face showing sadness and hope as he nags at the things they experience since they break through the first rank of cultivation.

Unaware that his words were calming and causing his friend, who was worried and anxious about everything at the time, to experience emotional distress.

"You're right, it's been a while since we four got together, and no, we four will stay the same, I will make sure of that," Sizhui replied, and Zizhen couldn't help but smile with relief.

"I'll join you tomorrow as well, and I'll make my peanut bread for you three. I want to join in on the fun you're planning for them," he added, gulping down and blinking away the feeling of tears attempting to escape him while fighting the emotional feeling within him.

He's grateful that someone is reminding him that no matter how heavy and unfavorable the situation is, there is still warm light inside a dark and cold tunnel, that there is still reason to be happy, and that the people who appreciate you will always be there to tell you everything will be fine, whether through actions or words.

His thankful to have such a person in their clan, and that person is Zizhen, who is now sliming brightly in front of him, even though their clan is currently facing a harsh storm and drought.

"That's great! Then I'll see you in the kitchen tomorrow morning," Zizhen said, his voice tinged with excitement.

"En," Sizhui smiled and lightly squeezed the other right shoulder before departing to see his two childhood friends, leaving Zizhen completely alone.

Meanwhile, inside the chamber, the two jade of the cloud clan are having a heated argument, with the younger jade-looking at his elder brother with judgemental eyes.

"So you knew all along that my wife is engaging in forbidden practices, but you conceal it from our clan out of pity and consideration for the fact that we are already married," Lan Zhan said, and Xichen only nodded, remaining silent and allowing his younger brother to express himself truthfully to him.

"This chaos began as a result of my carelessness... What is her current location? "

"Earlier, the five disciples I sent flew a message for me saying that she is now staying at the northern valley where the abandoned village is located alongside her puppets and servant May," Xichen answers, his face calm but exhausted.

"I see, send a message to those five disciples telling them to return here. In exchange, I will go there alone and end her life with my hands," Lan Zhan said, causing his elder brother to jump out of his chair and yell in rejection, ignoring the fact that his body is still tired from being drained of energy.

"NO, YOU CAN'T!"

Xichen suddenly began coughing roughly, now cupping his mouth with his left palm, which was now engulfed in slight dark blood coming from his mouth, triggering Lan Zhan to rush beside him in panic.

He made him sit back in the chair, hold his elder brother's right hand, and flow some Qi out of his body to transfer, but Master Woo's first grandson shoved his hand away and said, still coughing.

"It's fine, don't waste it; return to your seat,"

"En," Lan Zhan obediently follows, feeling guilty as he sits back in his chair, waiting for his elder brother to stop coughing.

"If you go alone, you must first kill our clan people and me," Xichen said, taking a white handkerchief from inside his sleeve hanfu and wiping the slight blood that had spilled down from his chin and lips, while Wanji remained silent and disappointedly looked down at the table.

"Wanji, do you even consider what you just said to me? Did you even think about me as your elder brother?" Xichen asks calmly.

"Forgive me," Lan Zhan said, apologizing.

"Hays, let's talk about this again after three days. I need to rest and will need to go into seclusion for three days in my residence to completely erase the existence of this ring into this world," Xichen said, and Wanji simply nodded.

Master Woo's first grandson looks at his younger brother for a while before gently standing out from the chair, putting his both hand on the table for support.

"Do not forget the person for whom your heart has longed for so long, Wanji; that person is the one who is much broken and suffering right now; don't think about things in isolation, and don't be self-centered; everything began with that woman's greed and selfishness; it's not your fault, so face him," Xichen says.

"I know you felt ashamed and didn't know how to face him; I'm also not in a position to interfere with your relationship with him, but... just face him, face him, and talk to him. Don't be afraid; face everything before you regret it; don't let this opportunity slip through your hands again,"  he advised before staggering away, opening the sliding door, and calling for Zizhen's assistance.

To be continued.
