BLUE FLOWERS

And Lan Zhan wants to spend the rest of his life having this rare moment with the person he loves.

"Wei..." He spoke up, and the others who were still trying to make him feel guilty immediately stopped and looked straight at him, eyes serious as he heard his childhood friend's serious tone of voice.

"Wei, I..."

"No," Wei responded quickly, his face now straight and strict.

"We can't, I know what you were trying to say to me, and I'll say we can't. I can't, I mustn't. If I did, my heart, which still craves vengeance, would only hurt us both. Forgive me, but I can't accept your love for me. All I can give you are the things I've always given you since you were a child."

"But what you're saying right now is already hurting me..." Lan Zhan said, finally showing discontent, which shocked Wei and caused a pang stab inside his heart.

But he can't really...

"I'm sorry, forgive me," he says as he turns his gaze away and looks down at the ground, releasing a breath and standing firm to each of his words, despite his heart's protests.

"I will take revenge for you; I'm the one who started it all; I will take revenge for you; Wei, please..."

Emperor Fen's second son looks at his childhood friend, who now looks at him pleadingly.

"See? I haven't accepted your love and heart, and I'm now being mean as a thief for snatching your freedom. Lan Zhan, can't you hear yourself right now? You sound selfish to yourself, and in your sentence, you portray me as a villain who exploits others, just as your wife did," the second prince of the Yao clan responded.

"Lan Zhan... I don't want to use you, and I don't want to be the reason why you lose yourself. Lan Zhan, I'm tired, I'm so tired of watching all the people I care about die and be hurt because of me. All I want right now is to be left alone and to bring justice to our people and my parents," Wei replied, his face apologetic and sorrowful.

"But what about me? Do you hear yourself right now as well? You're not stealing anyone's freedom here, but instead, you're deciding other people's fate in advance without regard for them; aren't you the one who's becoming selfish here?" Lan Zhan asked, leaving Wei speechless and stunned.

He didn't know how to respond anymore, or should I say he didn't truly think through his decisions before acting.

"You're being unfair... Do you think I didn't know such? Wei, I'm in love, not stupid; I thought that if I little by little showed my sincerity towards you, I could gradually earn your trust and heart, but turns out I was wrong and I was only fooling myself all this time," his face gradually showed distress.

"Did I not truly exist inside your heart? Do you also blame me for everything? Do you regret that our paths crossed?" Lan Zhan finally asks, his voice shaking from feeling slightly broken by Wei's words and he couldn't control an urge to release slight tears from his eyes.

Emperor Fen's second son saw this, he shuddered in disbelief.

Did he cause Lan Zhan to cry?

he didn't intend for things to turn out this way; all he wants is...

What?

What does he truly desire?

Wei kept staring at his childhood friend's disheartening expression until he couldn't take it any longer and was the first to turn his gaze away, feeling regretful as he clenched his fist and closed his eyes, remaining silent.

"I understand. I don't want to force you, but I can't keep being your childhood friend; our friendship will end on this day; please forgive me for bothering you today," Lan Zhan said, turning around and striding out of the Yao clan prince's residence, but before he could reach the stone gate, Wei shouted his name, causing him to stop walking.

"Lan Zhan! I'm sorry... I'm sorry, I truly did not think through my decisions, and I didn't mean to make you feel that way," the Yao clan's second prince says.

"To tell you the truth, I... I don't know what to do... I'm confused and scared... scared of everything. I'm scared of myself, I don't know how to control myself right now. It's filled with anger and frustration. Lan Zhan, please, help me... don't leave me," Wei finally breaks through his control, his eyes and cheeks now wet with tears.

"...Lan Zhan," he calls him again, his voice so wistful that his childhood friend finally turned to face him.

"Can I become selfish towards you? Can I demand everything from you? Can I reveal all of my darkness and ugliness to you? Will you truly accept who I am?"

"I already have," Lan Zhan replied, confidently striding back to him.

"Haha, you truly are an idiot," Wei said, slightly laughing as tears streamed down his cheeks.

"Em, only for you," Wanji responds, now securely clutching the thin waist of the man he adores.

Wei gave him a friendly smile and said,

"Then, Lan Zhan, make me forget everything, make me think of a way for me to start over, and please find a way for me to live life happily again,"

"En," the cloud clan's second jade replied, pulling the others into his warm, comforting arms, which Wei gladly accepted.

"Then, from now on, I entrust myself and everything to you," he says.

"Em, I will be here with you forever," Lan Zhan said, and Emperor Fen's second son's heart raced with gratitude.

Wei has no idea how he managed to capture this wonderful and amazing man's heart, but he is grateful that he did.

He is extremely fortunate to have this faithful and loyal man in his life.

"How come, an idiot like you falls in love with this weak person?" he asked, his tears slowly drying as he finally grinned at the person who has loved him as a man since childhood.

"There is no turning back,"

"Em," Lan Zhan replied, his heart racing with joy as he returned a grateful smile to the person he loves.

Wei clung to Lan Zhan's neck with both hands, tiptoed, and finally took the first-time initiative to kiss the person who loves him wholeheartedly and unconditionally, which Master Woo's second grandson immediately accepted.

To be continued.
