No one is dating in this. It's more of a group friendship one-shot that revolves around Finn. Reminder : This is modern times.

Vance and Finn had a weird friendship. It wasn't like their friendships with Bruce or Robin. Vance never really felt a strong need to protect either of the two, not like how he felt with Finn. The blonde knew almost everything about the other boy. From his mother's suicide, his dad's abuse, and his bullying to his self harming and low self esteem. Finn knew a lot about Vance as well, things that no one would even think of. They definitely had a weird friendship. But neither of them would trade it for another one.
_

Robin and Finn have been friends since early elementary. Robin knew almost as much as Vance did. Almost. Yes, Finn trusted Robin with his entire life. He'd admit that in a heartbeat. The only reason that Vance knows more is because he walked in to Finn's home, seeing as the other boy forgot a piece of clothing in the backseat of his car, and witnessed his father's abuse. That's also what brought up the topic of the boy's mother's suicide, that being the initial reason of the abuse. Robin knew neither one of these things. He saw Finn's purple and blue bruises that lined his arms and collarbone but the boy would tell him it was his bullies. The lie seemed to work every time. Vance would tend to these wounds as much as he could.

Bruce had the best friendship with Finn. He felt the most secure with him. Mentally at least. They shared the same hobbies and interests and could talk about them for hours on end. He may not be as close with Finn as the other two boys, but he, platonically, loved him like they knew each other for years.

Finn had been at home all day. He was intentionally staying put in his room, avoiding his father at all costs. The previous day, Finn had majorly stepped out of line in his dad's eyes. He was late coming home, having stayed with Vance majority of that day, and he hadn't washed the dishes as well. This definitely wouldn't be a big problem in any other household in North Denver, but this isn't any other household. It's the Blake's household. It was always like this. When Finn had gotten home, a small smile on his face from a joke Vance had made, his dad was waiting for him at the table. His hand was wrapped tightly around a belt, a frown sat tightly on his face. Finn didn't even get a chance to say anything to his father before he felt a sharp blow to his face. A sharp kick to his side followed. Then the belt hit him. Again and again and again, the belt lashed against his sides and legs. Finn cried out loudly, hoping that someone, anyone, could hear him. Vance had already pulled off unfortunately and Gwen was at Susie's.

Finney Blake was alone.

When Finn finally heard the door slam open and shut in the front part of his house, he slowly sat up in his bed. A quiet sigh escaped out of the boy's mouth as his feet swung from on his bed to his bedroom floor. His body ached and stung in certain places. He tried to walk himself to the bathroom, he needed to get the feeling of dried blood off of his body, but he ended up limping more instead of walking like he intended to. When he finally had gotten to the bathroom, he slumped against the side of the tub, having worn his entire body out with just a few steps. Finn decided his best shot at making it through today was to call Vance. He would've called Robin, maybe even Bruce, but neither one of them knew of the abuse the boy was going through. He couldn't say it was his bullies if they saw him right now, the bruises were too new and fresh for that to be true.

Vance was laying draped over his bed when his phone started to vibrate. It startled Vance but he quickly shook it off and looked at his device, which had inched slightly closer to him while vibrating aggressively.

"1 Missed Call From Finn"

Vance's heart hammered against his chest in fast beats as he grabbed hold of his phone and unlocked it. He never knew how bad it could be with Finn. How bad it could become. He pressed the call icon on Finn's contact, the phone screen becoming a different color as the call screen came into view. A ring was heard three times before a voice came through.

"Vance. I need you."

The voice was hoarse and very quiet. It sounded like it hurt the person to even speak anything above a whisper. Vance immediately threw an outfit on, grabbed his keys and phone, and jumped into his car. He didn't even think of the directions to Finn's home. He knew he'd make it there fast anyways. He was worried about the younger boy, but he was also ready to seriously injure the older man that lived in his house if he was present when he got there.

No less than 5 minutes later, Vance was pulled into the Blake's driveway. He huffed out in relief as he saw that the black thunderbird Finn's father drove was no where in sight. Vance took no extra time getting to the front door of the house and knocking loudly on it. He heard no noises from inside that indicated someone was coming. This fueled his concern for the younger boy. Vance made his way to the window that belonged to Finn's bedroom and took a glance inside. The younger boy was slouched against the tub in his en-suite bathroom, his chest heaving heavily. Vance knocked on the window, 5 beats at a time, signaling for Finn to open up. The younger boy sat up, suddenly more alert, and looked towards the window. He smiled a lopsided smile and tried to stand. A hand immediately went to his side as he gasped out in pain. Vance took notice of this and thought of shattering the window if the other boy couldn't make it over. That thought was short-lived as the window opened abruptly, startling Vance in the process.

Finn moved to the side of the room, a hand still on his side, as Vance made way into the bedroom. After closing the window back, and making sure it was securely locked, Vance turned to Finn.

"Okay. What did he do this time."
